About Me
I'm forever grateful to Elif Sahin for introducing me to DigitalScrapbook.com where everyone is so helpful and lovely. I grew up at the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and love photography and memory keeping.
Apart from everything crafty, I love fishing and the sea, the outdoors in general, spending time with family and friends at rodeos.
Here is a PDF for you with my fave digitalscrapbook.com site-links that used to sit here, it just got too crowded:

My aunt moved to Bells in 2008. Bells Beach, near Melbourne, is surfing’s holy ground, home to the Rip Curl Pro since 1962. After 2009, we spent weeks visiting my aunt there, soaking in its raw energy. The lore was alive; Kelly Slater’s 2010 victory and Courtney Conlogue’s 2013 upset echoed in Torquay’s cafes. Rincon and Southside’s heavy swells tested my nerve, their barrels both thrilling and humbling. Rip Curl’s merch: wetsuits, hoodies, and boardshorts, flooded local shops; I’d grab a cap, feeling part of the tribe.
The vibe was electric: post-comp beach parties, fish-and-chip runs, and dawn sessions with locals. Great whites lurked, their shadows spiking my pulse mid-ride, though attacks were rare. Between 2009-2015, Bells felt alive but not yet overrun: less Instagram hype, more salty camaraderie. I’d paddle out with locals, swapping tips over post-surf barbies. My aunt’s stories of quieter lineups lingered, but I loved the buzz: cold waves, sharky thrills, and perfect sets.

Haha. Dolphins looks so friendly when they really are con artists, lol.
Those were teenie tiny reef sharks and it was more like 'dont play with sharks, ever'. lol
Oh my that sounds scary. I remember seeing a fin out the back at Piha nearly giving me a heart attack but it was only a dolphin enjoying the surf LOL.
Thank you, Mary. Boogie boards are the way to go😊 I recall my bro literally pulling me on my boogie board out of a shark mob on Bribie.. 🤣
Love your journaling Bina and Bells sounds like a great surf spot. My husband and boys were surfers and My daughter and I would boogie board out the back with the surfers LOL. Spent many happy hours in the surf at Piha.
Love your page. Brought back great memories. xo
