We are finishing up a month on the Oregon Coast. It was great to spend time with family and have some time in one of my most favorite places. Excited to see where this next part of our journey takes us as we start on our year of the road trip.

Family is often one of the most common themes for a scrapbooker. Digital scrapbooking provides a creative avenue to capture and save these precious moments. I mentioned back in my May post that we were leaving Mexico and the future had yet to make itself known exactly. As we sit now on the cusp of July I'm a little bit wiser about things but not a lot. We enjoyed a family road trip from Oregon to Arizona for a wedding. Stopped at lots of National Parks and enjoyed some camping! I'll share some of my travel journal spreads soon. We're back in Oregon for a month before we head out on a year of nomading.

I think it would be fair to say that I got into scrapbooking because of my travels, and I don't think that's a very unique experience. Lots of people come to digital scrapbooking because they want to make a memento of a special trip. Scrapbooking now is a way of life for me, and I tend to include my travels in with the rest of my every day photos when I'm scrapbooking. However, I know travel albums are still a core feature of digital scrapbooking and I wanted to share a few excellent examples of travel digital scrapbooking layouts.

I've been enjoying taking a break every other month from my Good Life madness to create these smaller bundles. It feels like getting back to my roots with these little bundles and I don't have to be quite so picky about the colors when I don't have to use the color palette for quite as much. I'll be back later in the month with some more coordinating bundles for last month's Good Life.

How many photos do you usually include in your layout? When I'm making a layout I'm usually including one or two photos, unless it's my pocket pages, in which case I'm including lots of photos every time. Pocket scrapping is a great way to include a lot of photos on one layout, but if you don't want to go the pocket route, here's a bit of inspiration to keep you going.

I'll let you in on a bit of secret, which is that I tend to write these blog posts a bit in advance, which is great from the standpoint of me being on top of things, but a little strange as I ponder what to write here. I am writing this in my home office in Mexico where I've been working for about three years. However, by the time you are reading this we will have packed up our things and be on the verge of leaving Mexico for our next adventure.
