Pockets in Real Life: Korea Edition

By Marisa Lerin Fri, 11/25/2016 - 00:00

I recently finished up a new paper pocket album, with photos from the 2 years we lived in Korea. It was enjoyable and a little bittersweet to go back and revisit these photos. Korea for some reason is the only place I actually get homesick for, and looking back through all these photos and memories was a special experience.

Summer Road Trip: Part 1, Part 2

The Grand Canyon started our tour of a lot of red rocks, so prepare yourself. Our next stop was a drive through Monument Valley, in Southern Utah, a place full of large, lonely rock formations.

See the first part of the trip here.

On our way out of California we drove through Death Valley, the only national park we visited where the ranger urged us to stay in the car and not wander around too much. Summer was apparently in full swing.

2016 Summer Road Trip: Part 1

Jordan and I are just back from a decently epic road trip around the US. The trip came upon us as a kind of surprise, we had been planning to drive to Tennessee for the graduation of Jordan's brother, but time got away from us and suddenly we had to leave if we wanted to get in there in time. So we left, and over a month later we're home again! We tried to take things slowly, so we'd have time to stop and see things, but it turns out it's a challenge to do a leisurely road trip, so much to see and do! My main goal for the trip was to see the Grand Canyon, but we saw so much more.

All Aboard!

Both Jordan and I love riding on the train. Often, the train trip has been a highlight of our travels in the past. If you have the time, there's nothing better than the view out the window as you watch the terrain change as you travel from one place to the other. We had long had the dream of experiencing the train here in the US and so when it came time to make our holiday plans last fall we thought, why not now? We decided to take the train from the nearby town of Albany up to Portland and then over to Minneapolis (three days, two nights) for Thanksgiving.

On the Road: San Francisco

A few weeks back Jordan and I took a trip down to San Francisco to see Jordan's brother and sister-in-law. We enjoyed a leisurely trip down the coast and through the Redwoods. A very scenic route!
