Today's photo goes back two years to the week Jordan and I spent traveling around Jerusalem with a college class led by Jordan's father. It was a wonderful, if slightly intense trip.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that my locale changed. Jordan and I are in Mexico for a few weeks, staying with my parents who live just outside of Monterrey in a town called Santiago. It's been a good break, and I'll be back with more details, but for now here's a little glimpse of what we've been up to.

After a long stretch of rain and clouds, yesterday the sky cleared up, the sun came out and the temperature dropped considerably. Woke up this morning to a very cold house, but the sun is still out so I guess that's a consolation.

We're in the midst of a big push, trying to get various things finished before out-of-town family starts arriving on Saturday for Thanksgiving festivities. Yesterday I made a practice round of mashed potatoes for a party. I feel pretty confident about mashed potatoes now. It's nice to feel like something from the Thanksgiving menu isn't a mystery.

This is my last "old" bundle, the last one I made to scrap the photos from the year Jordan and spent traveling. Malaysia is a fascinating country with several distinct cultural groups (Malay, Chinese and Indian). It has seriously delicious food.

I've recently jumped into Instagram (loving it!) and it introduced me to this thing called Throwback Thursday (#tbt). It's a cool idea, to look back and find something interesting to share. So I searched my flickr account for this week in years past and here's what I found:

This entire bundle is based off a layout I may quite a while ago about a trip to Petra. The first Christmas Jordan and I were married, we traveled to be with his family in Amman, Jordan and my family, who were living nearby in Kuwait, also came! It was a full house and a great time to have both families together for the holiday. We took a day trip to Petra, and here me, my sister and my sister-in-law are riding donkeys. I think we look pretty professional.

About a million years ago, at the beginning of June, Jordan and I took a trip to the Lake District in England. We were flying through England anyway on our way back to the States, and it was a good chance to stop and see Jordan's sister who was working at a retreat center there. It was a really wonderful place to stop and relax before embarking on our relocation project.

Just last week we were finishing up a family reunion which included all my Dad's siblings and their families, which totaled about 50 people, all of whom I hadn't seen in at least 5 years, if not double or triple that.

Our two-month long trek to our new final destination (Corvallis, OR) is over half-way finished. Here's a little peak at what we did today.
