8 Soft & Sweet Digital Scrapbooking Kits & Inspiration
Last month I wrote a post about my love for bright colors. Like the colors I had included, it was a bit intense. I'm hoping this post will be a bit more welcoming and soothing, like the colors themselves.
While I certainly love bright colors, it can take some work to get them to work in a digital scrapbook layout. Those rainbows and neons can easily overwhelm your photos and even each other. Generally when I'm looking for digital scrapbooking kits to use, I'm looking for something softer, with neutral options, that won't compete with all the photos I have going on. Today I'll share a few of my soft and sweet digital scrapbooking kit favorites.
Starting out with this Positively Happy bundle from Jessica. I have loved this bundle since it came out, using it multiple times both in my pocket pages and in my hybrid notebooks. It is my favorite balance between lots of soft, neutral colors, with something bold thrown in.
One of my most favorite from among the Good Life bundles, is this original October one. I love the lighter touch these colors bring to what can often be a dark and moody time when you're looking at digital scrapbooking kits. My autumns don't often match up with the dark browns, etc. you often see at this time of year. And I love that you can use this bundle for both layouts about the pumpkin patch and for your newborn.
Nobody will argue with me about these digital scrapbooking kits from Sheila and Melo being soft and sweet.
How do you feel about orange? I don't like orange, but I use it all the time and love it. This is one of my original bundles, but I love it so much that I updated it a few years ago. It was inspired by spring in the desert, which is a delicate and beautiful thing to experience and fits perfectly here among these soft and sweet inspirations.
I love this digital scrapbooking collection from Elif. When I saw it I knew I wanted to use it to scrap Iona's first days. And if there's ever a time when you want something soft and sweet it's with a newborn.
I may be pushing the soft and sweet theme with these digital scrapbooking kits from July 2018, but the color palette does include a soft pink and soft blue, so I'm going to allow it. These combos of bold and pastel colors are my favorite. Then I can have those neutrals to work with my photos and I can have the bright spots to add interest.
I am often purchasing soft and sweet kits from Anita Designs at the Digital Press; she has lots of great options. This Pura Vida digital scrapbooking kit is maybe a little more bold, but has those soft pastels that I love.
Ending where we started with a final, lovely bundle from Jessica.
What are your favorite color combinations? Do you like something a bit more neutral, or something with more flair?

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
