About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

I would love to spend more time scrapbooking but alas..... work, kids, house etc take priority!
many thanks for the fab kit.
Work takes up alot of my time now so I don't spend the time I use to on the computer when I get home.
Pretty kit, like everything you do.
Love this kit! Every piece screams spring!!
@Gillian: The link was on the very last page after the survey when it said thanks for participating, here's your kit. :) If you closed the page you may try to go to your internet history and see if you can pull that page back up. If not, you may try to Private Message Marisa on her page here: https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/marisa-lerin (There's a link that says contact) and see if they can help you from that end.
I am new to DigitalScrapbook.com so must have missed the link to download the free kit after I filled out the survey, could anyone help and tell me where I can find it. Thanks.
I have just recently retired and have lots of time to do my digital scrapbooking. Digital is the only way to go for me. I love it and I really like the way my pictures look once I am done. The ease of scrapbooking with digital is perfect.
Very interesting survey questions! Thanks for the lovely gift for participating Marisa!!! There were a couple questions I would have answered $0 or less than 1 but that was not an option so I chose the smallest answer available. The questions were very thought provoking about where the industry is headed, so I liked this survey. LoL
Very nice kit. Thanks for offering the free kit but I would have done anyway.
Thank you for the kit, Marisa :) It's beautiful.
Thanks for the kit, I love it!
That was a good survey, I would of filled it out without a free gift, but thank you for the beautiful gift..it is so pretty!
I was happy to participate. I hope digital scrapbooking (in some form) sticks around. I just recently ditched paper scrapping and I am so in love with digi scrapping. Thanks for the kit! It will go to good use :)
Espero haber sido de ayuda, en parte el idioma ha sido un poco complicado pero me gusto... gracias y que continúen las encuestas para tener una visión mas clara de lo que es el scrapbook digital... bendiciones
Did I miss the download I hope not that is a beautiful kit
Ignore my last comment - just read it properly and got the link. Thank you.
Thanks everyone!
@Sue: I sent you the link via email.
Done the survey - how do I download the kit?
thank you very much
Thank you so much!
I love this site & checking each day to see what is new! Thank you for all the ideas & encouragement!
thanks for the kit!
I hope you find useful the answers to the survey.
I do paper scrapbooking, not digital, but the computer is my principal tool to create the elements to print and then work with.
Thank you Marisa for the pretty kit!!
Thanks for the free kit, Marisa. I love the cute birdie/floral survey background - can we have it as a paper PUH-LEASE!
Thanks so much Marisa, this truly is a wonderful site to learn, share and be inspired by the talented members.
I basically live my life in a recliner due to declining health, but I still want to create and traditional scrapping has become out of the question. The generosity of the scrapping world is awesome, especially this site. I spent most of my time collecting digital goodies, free and purchased, and looking at layouts and reading articles. It has became the one thing I can physical do and enjoy. And it is much cheaper than seeing a therapist. Thank all for bringing joy to me.
I am on a very limited budget o am able to do scrapbooking because of the generosity of the scrapbooking world
Love your site which I found just a few weeks ago. Have just retired and hope to spend more time at my computer. As money is now tight, being able to source free supplies is a great help.
Just took the survey (before I logged on) it was very informative. Thank you for the lovely kit. I also wanted to say how much I love the direction you are taking. The creativity and quality are great and the fact that we can have all these wonderful items for free is a fab bonus. Thanks to all who make this site so much fun.
I just found your site a couple of weeks ago and I am loving what I am finding. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you, Nice kit!
Thank you
Thank you Marisa.
Thanks everyone!
@Dana and Friena: I just sent you the link via email.
good survey
Nice survey. Also missed the download link :). Agree with Dana about the affordable commercial license also not using for profit but sometimes make stuff for friends.
Thanks for the beautiful kit!
Love the kit!
I think I missed the link to download the free kit. I was so focused on commenting, I forgot to see if there was a next step. Love the survey though.
I love seeing what has been created - I love using the patterns/colour combinations as inspiration in my card making. Sometimes I print a kit and use the pieces to make a hybrid card/project. I also just love collecting and hoarding :) I sometimes use a digital kit to enhance a photo - add text or a mask or some little elements - when making a calendar or printing a book but I would not call it proper scrapbooking and I guess it is for 5-6 projects a year.
To me, an affordable commercial license is very important. I don't sell enough of my crafts to justify spending a huge amount on commercial license, but I do want the flexibility to be able to sell to friends and family without the guilt of piracy. That is the number one thing that drew me to DigitalScrapbook.com. The commercial license is affordable enough to justify purchasing it. I normally don't break even with the commercial license, but it allows me to create and share projects guilt-free. If I have to make a choice between digital purchases, I will always choose DigitalScrapbook.com because of the commercial license option. If it were to increase too much, I would have to weigh the benefits. I understand needing to make a profit for the designers, but I don't do this as a business, I just want the freedom to recoup my expenses if necessary. I think that's one of the reasons piracy happens.
Thank you for the lovely kit!
Are you going to post the results?
Great survey. I would love to know the results when it's over.
I love digital scrapbooking.
