Getting Back in the Swing
It's raining, raining, raining. Snow is still in the forecast for later in the week and I think most of us are crossing our fingers that we'll get to see some. There's something special about experiencing snow in the desert.
Last year we had a nice big snow storm. Amman is a very hilly city so a little bit of ice goes a long way in making it treacherous. But it was really fun to take a walk around the neighborhood and see everyone out enjoying the weather. A couple men had even stolen their wives' tea trays to go sledding.
Despite the stormy weather, or maybe because of this forced stay home time, we've been trying to get back in the swing of things after the holidays. Our to-do list is longer than ever and we have lots of things planned for the new year. Already we've made a big change in the pricing of kits, and you can expect more changes with pricing and donations. We're searching for just the right balance so that everyone can get the most out of the site, so stay with us while we experiment and leave us your feedback.
Also high on the to-do list is making some significant changes to the designer role here at DigitalScrapbook.com. I'm really hoping that soon we'll be able to allow everyone to share at least a little bit with the community. So if you're interested in sharing a few designs, or giving back to the community, your chance is coming. I'm also hoping to get more regular designers to join Brooke and me here as well. More details about both of these opportunities will be available when those features are ready to go.
I have lots of new designs ready to share with you, as well as some old designs that have been hiding out. You can count on there always being something new happening here, so don't be a stranger!

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Snow and palm trees! What an experience! And all the changes to DigitalScrapbook.com sound exciting! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after the holidays and I'm having a bit of a hard time. The holidays were so nice, I miss them already!
Looks like you had fun!
I'm glad someone enjoys snow. ;) The changes coming to digitalscrapbook.com sound exciting! Thanks!
wow that looks like it would create some traffic nightmares. Thanks for sharing.
Love the makeshift sled. Great photos!
I hadn't thought of you having snow. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Really wonderful.
I just love the palm tree in snow pic *heart*
Cool pictures - especially loved the one of snow atop a palm tree - something you don't ever expect to see! Still laughing at the thought of grown men riding "tea trays" down the street! ROFL
Love the pix of your honey and the palm tree. Cute!
Fun times--all that snow!
Good idea about the designers! Look forward to seeing all of the new assets. :)
I love a good snowy day here in Ks but what a treat it would be if it was a rare event..especially in a desert! That hill would be awesome to sled down!! The changes sound fun....can't wait to see them!
*heart*
So strange to see snow and palm trees! Looking forward to hopefully giving back in the new year (both by donating and hopefully designing a few things). By chance, what would you think about this...if people design and upload items, could they potentially get a few additional download credits based on how often their design is downloaded? It wouldn't need to be a lot of credits by any means...but just a few to help encourage people to contribute to the site. Just a thought. Again, looking forward to participating more now that the craziness of the holidays has passed. :)
That's a lot more snow than I got. C:
Wow, the snow looks fun! Stay warm!
