How to Pin From Instagram on Your Phone

Instagram is my favorite social media site, and the only one I'm really active on (follow me here!). I will admit now that I mostly follow animals that live in Japan, but I also follow some creative people and find their photos very inspiring, inspiring enough that I want to pin the photo somewhere important on one of my Pinterest boards. I was very frustrated for a quite a while because I could not figure out how to do it. Then one day, I figured it out and my life has been so much better! I will share with you now my secret:

The top right corner of each photo on Instagram has a little ... menu. Click on that.

Clicking on it will bring up a menu. One of the options is "Copy Share URL."

This will copy the link to the photo to your phone's clipboard. Now, simply open Pinterest on your phone. Usually, it will just pop up a little box that says, "Pin the link you copied?" Click on the pin it button and you're good to go.

If for some reason the box doesn't show up, you can add a pin by clicking on your profile page in Pinterest.

Once there, click on the "plus" icon. This will bring up a menu for adding a pin. Select the "Web" option, and paste in the url.

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
