Another year, another photo book (or three!). For the second year running I've completed a yearly project using digital pocket templates (set 1, set 2, set 3). I cannot tell you enough how much I love scrapping in the pocket format (both digital and paper). These digital pocket pages have the perfect spaces to deal with all the random day-to-day snapshots I take, making the random into something cohesive and amazing at the end of the year. Plus the large photo spaces used in the templates set #2 make amazing spreads with photos that are a bit more impressive than the rest.

Miraculously I've even managed to take the final step and get it printed out, which seems like a hassle at the time, but once it arrives is more than worth it. Seeing the year unfold before me, page by page, is a wonderful trip down memory lane, and making these books is a habit I hope to continue. I love that I have some record of the photos from the year, even including trips I may want to make into larger projects down the road. At least this way we have a small reminder of all that we did in a given year.

I continue to enjoy the quality of the Mpix.com products I've ordered. I get some products from them for free (like the photo book featured here), but I also order from them regularly: I gave a wedding book to my brother and sister in law for Christmas, and I just received an order of photo prints for my paper pockets that turned out beautifully. Knowing I will receive a quality print job every time makes ordering items a lot less stressful. I put a lot of time and effort into my various projects, and it's disappointing when you finally go to get it printed and it doesn't look quite right. So I'm glad to have a found a company where I know this won't happen.

If you're looking to get a photo book printed, now is a great time. Mpix.com is offering 40% off panoramic soft cover and panoramic photo books through February 22, 2017 (this post shows the panoramic books, the soft cover books are also lovely). This is a one-time use code, just enter promo code PIXELSCRAPPER17 in the promo code section when checking out.

@Violet: I've only done 10x10 in the hardback. Which I think is a nice size, it isn't as overwhelming as 12x12, but still big enough to see stuff. I've done 8x8 in the softcover, which I like, but not for pockets because they'd be too small.

For the paper, I did whatever the standard is (matte book) which looks good. I haven't done the alternative though, so I can't compare. Although I have a feeling I might prefer the matte, I'm going through a matte phase :)

Marisa, a couple of questions after looking at the options for Panoramic books on MPix. What size is your book? I'm guessing 10x10? And did you do the semi-gloss photographic paper or the matte book stock? If you've done both in the various books you've done, what do you think of each type?

Wow, your pages look stunning. I so appreciate your recommendations for printing places, it's so helpful to know I have some assurance of quality based on the review of someone I trust. Now if I could just get any of my years finished I could print out a book! I haven't finished a whole year since 2011.... The hangup isn't even in the scrapping at this point, it's in my total lack of a process for dealing with my photos. At any rate, your book looks gorgeous, I love how you did the cover, and I am super inspired!

Thanks for the coupon Marisa. Are these hardcover books? I've never seen a book that was done totally in this style. It is very cool!

I've used MPix for photos before. I compared the quality to Walmart's Photo Center and to Shutterfly's photos and the MPix ones were much nicer! I have never ordered a book from there, but I may do that in the future. :)

Your books are really beautiful! I enjoy the simple grid style a lot.
