New Bundle: Video Game Valentine

Most of the time the design process is a lot of work, like trying to tease knots out of your windblown hair with a tiny comb. But every once in a while something just pops into my head in all its full glory. Such was the case with Video Game Valentine.

I wish I could remember what the inspirational flash point was, I'm sure it was something, but it was in the fall I had this idea, and I wan't paying close attention. But all of a sudden I knew I wanted to make a kit with pixel art with a classic video game feel and also some Valentine's day thrown in.

The most gratifying of all, was that even when blessed with such clear cut ideas in the past, they generally don't end up looking like they do in my head, but when I finished this one I thought, "Yes! That's exactly it!"

I did have a really hard time cutting myself off from corny Valentine sayings though... #sorrynotsorry.

Jordan has already declared this his favorite bundle, no surprise, he's the only reason I know "pixel art" is a thing. And I'm thinking I'm not the only person who has such a person in their life...

I love this kit! I can think of lots of uses for it too, we all love gaming in this house, even our 3 yr old has beh games!

SO perfect for my fiance and I, who met playing an online game and are both avid gamers, with 500+ games in the Steam account. My son and most of our friends are also gamers/techies/sci-fi geeks, so I can see this being a LOT of use when I can afford the bundle.

Oh, this is absolutely PERFECT! I love, love, love this bundle & will be printing what I can* to use on pages about my twin nephews --- once (which will be a good long while, I'm that behind) I get caught up to when they started playing games.

*I'm limited to what I can print by my printer which only prints up to size 8.5x11; this great Canon inkjet was only $70 but to get printing up to 8.5x14 was another $30-50 & we didn't have it. Maybe someday I can upgrade to that (& after that, I want one that will print up to 12x12. And then maybe a plotter. I'd REALLY like a plotter!).

Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
