Hitting the Road + Postcard Giveaway
After several months at home, Jordan and I are preparing for a new adventure, this time by means of our mini van. We will be driving coast to coast, from Oregon to Connecticut, to see my brother-in-law graduate from the Coast Guard Academy. The whole family is then going on a Caribbean cruise, lovingly financed by Jordan's grandma. Then, of course, we have to drive back. So it will be something of an epic undertaking. While I have done road trips in the past, I have not driven from one side of America to the other. I'm ready to pack my bags and go!
As we are blessed with a mobile business, you will be hearing from us from the road, but there will be times when we are out of contact, so keep this in mind as bugs and questions surface. We of course still have the wonderful DigitalScrapbook.com team keeping an eye on things. Thanks ladies!!
I do hope to post some updates here on the blog, but if you're really curious about where we are, I'm a thorough Instagrammer, and will certainly be documenting our trip through those fun filters.
In the past I've done a postcard giveaway, and this seemed like a fun chance to have another one. If you're interested in receiving a postcard from me, likely from somewhere in the USA, send your mailing address to [email protected] . I'll be choosing people randomly from the list and sending out postcards as we go.
We're doing all our fun summer plans fast and furious at the beginning. What are you planning for the summer?

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

My husband and I have always said what a great trip that would be. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Have a fun-tastic time!! Can't wait to see your photos and the designs the trip inspires! *heart*
A cross-country road trip sounds awesome! Have fun.
Have an awesome road trip!
I hope to scrapbook this summer in between baseball games, horse shows and teaching my daughter to drive!
Looks like you're going to have a blast. I would love to drive from one end to the other and all the way around. You're going right through my area too (kc). Safe Travels my friend.
Sounds like a blast! I had friends take their two tween daughters on the road cross-country for TWO MONTHS in their airstream a few years ago! What a treasure trove of memories you will have!
Woah! Talk about an epic undertaking!! Have such a blast!
Nice trip ! Bon voyage !
I envy you - hope the two of you have a nice time on your travels! My oldest is working this summer, so we have to stick close to home again & play chaffeur (this summer it's saving for a school trip to France & for college). Hope to go camping a few times though - maybe in coastal Maine (miss the area). ;)
have a wonderful trip and safe driving!
We just returned from an 18-day trip to Europe, including a 12-day Mediterranean cruise. It was our first time in Europe, and we had a fabulous time! Last year we did a camping road trip around the western US, totaling 8,700 miles and 13 states in 58 days.
I am so envious!! We did Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Canada's Alberta one year. Such fun!! We are hoping to do Vegas to Monument Valley in a loop this autumn but we've never done anything as long as this!! It sounds fabulous and should provide you with a kazillion photos!! Green with jealousy!!
Have a awesome journy and travel safe:o)
Have a Fantabulous time!
By the time you get back Marisa...you'll have so much to document, that it
will be a Very long time before losing your designing mojo...LOL!
Happy and safe travels to you both :-)
If you see me with a DigitalScrapbook.com sign along your route, will you pick me up as your hitch-hiker? I've always wanted to travel across the US by auto; lucky you!
Wow,that is sure one epic adventure,it's awesome being young and having no children. Singing, "Those where the days my friend,i thought they'd never end" LOL,but they did, hehehehehe, with 5 children it is hard to travel.
You guys have a blast,i do look forward to seeing those pic's,i know you guys will with us here at digitalscrapbook.com sooner or later.
Kinda jealous of the Caribbean cruise, but still i pray you'll have a wonder time with your family......Blessings!!
you're going to be so close to my area!
That sounds like SOOOOOOO much fun. Sadly, our finances after buying our house last summer don't leave room for any major trips this year. Enjoy!!
#jealous Sounds like a BLAST! I hope you all have a FANTASTIC time/adventure!
So awesome!! And hey you have a great CG kit to scrap the events. :) Have FUN! The week of my own brother's graduation from USCGA continues to be one of my favorite recent family events. Congrats to your BIL - what a big accomplishment. Good luck on your travels!
This sounds like fun! Have a good, safe trip. Looking forward to seeing photos on Instagram :-)
sounds awesome! have fun :D
This sounds like an amazing adventure. I can't wait to see all the wonderful pictures. Enjoy your time!
How awesome! I can't wait to see all of the pictures that you take and hear about all of the fun things that you see. If you're in MN for any great length of time and have some free time (I know that you most likely have a load of family and friends here), we should do lunch! Would be fun to meet both of you face to face. :)
What a wonderful trip you have planned, Marisa! I'm sure you & Jordan will enjoy yourselves - have fun and drive safely!
Sounds like such a fun trip - road trips are such a blast!
You are going to have a blast! We drove from CA to WV when we moved and it was amazing to see so much of the country. Though we were in two cars with 2 kids and a dog, so our adventures were limited to whatever was directly on our path and pet-friendly...lol. Have a great trip!
Sound like a great trip! I noticed that y'all are coming through west Tennessee. This is where I live - just outside of Jackson. Hope y'all have a fun and safe trip (and cruise, too)!
What fun !!!! .... drive safely and enjoy ... I can see lots of new things coming the way of DigitalScrapbook.com
