Pockets In Real Life: Hong Kong Edition

Continuing in my pursuit of pocket fun, I have another album to share with you today. (See project 1 and project 2.) My family moved to Hong Kong when I was 16 and I finished high school there. It was a pretty amazing city to live in, and defined my idea of a city. No other city has quite lived up to this since.

When we first arrived in Hong Kong it was night and as we approached via plane I remember looking out the window as we passed so many lights, and they seemed so close! It was until the next morning that I saw the concrete jungle we had landed in. And the old ladies out in the park doing their Tai Chi.

Despite Hong Kong's deserved reputation for lots of buildings, we actually lived on the less developed side of the island, which was quite different from the busy downtown. Eventually we even lived next door to a giant reservoir park, devoid of anything but trees and water.

Looking through these old photos was fun for me. Thanks for letting me share!

As I looked at this, I wondered if this is where you learned to love tea? :) Lovely album!

You all look so very happy in these pictures! You can tell you loved living there with your family. Good to see you still had time for tea ;-)
