Sneak Peak & Gallery Spotlight - 8/30/2013

Phew! What a week it's been! I'm not sure where all the time has gone, but it's Friday again! There were a bunch of random things I wanted to share with you this week, but since the site was down I never quite got around to it.

First of all, I got a haircut! I've been wearing my hair long for a long time and I've been considering cutting it, when we drove past Great Clips and they were having an $8 sale. I took it as a sign and took the plunge. I would consider this my "usual" hair style, although it has been many years since I've actually worn it. But I'm really enjoying the freedom of having no hair dragging around!

Do you ever wonder who's in those random BuzzFeed lists? This week my parents made their debut here as stylish couple #13! Also, randomly, Jordan's aunt and uncle are #20. Not sure how they both ended up in the same list, but I guess style runs through both sides of the family.

In gallery news, I really feel like everyone has stepped it up a notch and is uploading superb layouts. I really had a hard time choosing some for this week.

Grandparents Maple by Catherine
I just love layouts that both creatively use elements and have a large photo for most of the layout. This is a great use of both!

Bachelorette Party by Shelby
A great classic layout. Fun use of flowers and the colors match the theme of the photo well.

Winter by Elif
I love the use of the white background and the bold blue. Really brings the winter theme alive.

The month of September is going to be full of VERY EXCITING NEWS! You don't want to miss it. And I will continue to have some fun bundles. Next week I have a couple random things coming, and I'm sure at least one of them will strike your fancy!

About Me

Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
