Summer 2014 Road Trip: Newport, RI

Once we managed to drive all the way to the East Coast, it was time to do some sightseeing! Luckily, we were staying in the town of Newport, RI which is famous for its wealthy summer residents and the mansions they left behind. I toured several of the mansions, and experienced all the different ways excessive wealth can manifest into a house. Each mansion was different and they were all fun to see.

▲ Perhaps the best thing about this trip was how we got to experience two springs. We had spring in Oregon before we left, but when we got to Rhode Island their spring was just starting.

You have to see them at Christmas, every year is a surprise! You would think that we would get bored after 30 years but it is so huge. We love taking pictures from the cliffe walk in the winter of the beach. Glad you got to see a very small piece of our little state. :)

Great photos, Marisa. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in those mansions, and I LOVE that someone has their very own pagoda!
