Using ViralTag with Pinterest
Running a site like this means that I should be up on social media. I think I manage to do an okay job running the DigitalScrapbook.com Facebook page, and when it comes to Twitter...well...I do my best. But my favorite place on the internet, current site excluded, is Pinterest. I just love the constant stream of ideas and jokes and delicious food. My life has certainly become much richer since I joined. These days the thing to do seems to be to bemoan the amount of time spent pinning instead of actually doing stuff, but I find that for myself the time I spend pinning is time well spent. I am always finding ideas to use in designing, or cooking, or just for regular living. I am also always on the lookout for things to help me manage my pinning, it is part of my job after all ;).
Tracking and knowing what's going on with your pins is still a kind of watery area, but a few sites are emerging to help you better manage your pin time. One site that I've been trying out lately is Viraltag.com. This site actually lets me schedule a bunch of pins at once, so that I don't have to bombard you all at once with the wonderful things I find. Currently I use it mostly to pin things from DigitalScrapbook.com, but who knows where it will take me in the future.
Do you use Pinterest? Do you find it's a time sucker or an idea giver?
I've also recently become aware of this great list of social media tools (on which you'll actually find Viral Tag). I highly recommend taking a look if you've got a minute, and if you're doing any kind of work with social media that you want to make more efficient.
There's over 500 tools listed, and the article breaks down all the different kinds of categories and tools you might want in order to improve your social media game. They're also tagged by which social media sites they work with, and Chris even has answers to some great FAQ. Super handy, so make sure you pop over there. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

OH I fell in love with Pinterest! But it did take me a while, simply because I didn't have a PC just my android which made it hard to pin anything I liked. Now I share Pins with my Besites, and I agree with you Marisa there is so much that will inspire you! I am in my early 30's and I have a LOOOVE for Vintage! Especially make up/ train cases. I find all these beautiful cases, as well as ideas for my OCD issue on organizing my craft "space." Cooking, ideas for the home, and when I am in a overloaded mood, I go pinning and actually relax.
I love Pinterest. My daughter tried to get me on it earlier, but at that point I didn't want to have to be pushed to the new "improved" facebook. So when FB pushed and did it anyways I immediately went and had my daughter send me an invite! We used it for some great tips and tricks for planning my parents 50th Anniversary party, and the items and ideas that were our spring board were well worth it! They were a BIG hit!!! Usually I roam through on Hubby's phone when I can't sleep. Or for getting ideas, yes it's a great tool. Sometimes feel like I'm getting carried away, other times not. My daughter couldn't believe it when she saw I had so many board, 72!
I agree with Catherine, a board full of pictures is much better than a bunch of bookmarks:) I use Pinterest and I don't think it's a waste of time at all. I get tons of ideas about all sorts of things and it's a good place to store stuff that I want to come back to or things I think the whole world should see. Lol. It also kinda says something about you. What you pin is what you are - like a more true facebook status and in colour too!
I have an pinterest addiction lol.
I enjoy Pinterest somewhat and i say somewhat because i am not allowing another site to take over my life, lol, once you start pinning you can't stop,so Pinterest is a place i visit when i feel like it or have the extra time.Tho it is a great site for idea's,inspirations and just enjoying the awesome talented work of some there.ViralTag sounds great, however i am not sure at this time in my life that i really would need or use it.
It all sounds great Marisa, have a blast.
I LOVE Pinterest! I find I pin mostly recipes though, and you should never get on there when you are hungry.
Can I just say: I LOVE you Pinterest! I can spend hours there and always get a good laugh along the way.
I am trying to pull myself together and get out there (Pinterest and Instagram) but I think I'll wait 'till I get a new camera.
I LOVE it!! I also love that it's another way of social interaction at my own pace.
I also really like being able to see what all of you ladies enjoy by the items that you pin.
I find that using Pinterest helps to curb my hoarding like tendencies, haha. There are some things I pin and know that I'll probably never use, but its nice to have them there just in case. But I also find it useful for things I DO want to remember... a pin board full of pictures is much easier to find something in rather than a list of bookmarks.
Almost a year ago I started to use Pinterest and I immediately got hooked. It became part of my daily routine in the morning after having turned on my computer. But also when I'm travelling by train or by bus (which is very often :P) I like to entertain myself by pinning on my smartphone. I definitely don't think it's a waste of time, for it gives me tons of inspiration and it keeps me occupied whenever I have a dull moment. I do notice that some of my boards have too much pins in them, which makes it difficult to find certain pins again. So I guess I'll have to start sorting and naming my pins better ;).
I really like printerest. So much to see and it gives great ideas for a lot of things in life. I love pinning! But I also love to visit other peoples boards :-) I think it's not a waste of time because you get creative, think about things and it puts a smile on my face.
