I was saving this kit to scrap photos of my birthday and didn't take a single one. Oops! I did, however, get a scale and weigh my hedgehogs for the first time today.
This is why Janet keeps putting hedgehogs in her kits, btw. I ask nicely and she makes me hedgies for my herd

Paddy, I *just* saw your comment. Their quills can be sharp when they're grumpy but when they're happy, they put their quills flat so it's like petting a hair brush. Keep an eye on your wild hedgie and send photos!

cute, i thought their spikes were sharp- don't they sting you?! this remindes me, there's a heavy-weight hedgy lurking in my shrubs, too- waiting for the cats to go away so can steal their food :)

Judy, I have 4 cages. Hedgehogs are solitary creatures and my babies are no exception.
Cheryl, it is my Sulley boy. He has always been large. He's not overweight; his entire body is double the size of Puck & Sunny so it's no wonder he's triple their weight. He did gain some weight after his surgery but lost it all once he could run around like a crazy man again. I feed them cat food (Blue Buffalo grain-free) and live mealworms/superworms, supplemented with chicken and some fruits and veggies if they're willing.
Is it Sulley that is so chubby? Do you have to put him(her) on a diet? What do they eat?

OMG, this is an adorable layout. The hedgehogs are just too cute Brenda. Do they have separate cages or can they stay together? Great job on the weigh in!!
