Elements etc on top of Journaling

So many times I'll see a layout that is just gorgeous, but then there's all kinds of elements papers, etc on top of the journaling. I get that it's trying to mimic a paper layout, but on a paper layout, you could flip a flower or ribbon out of the way to read the journaling. On a digital printed page, not so much.

So do you over hang elements etc on your journaling? If so, what do you do when you print the layout?

I'll cover up little bits of journaling since you can generally still figure out what's being said.

You're correct Kiana; that's one of my pet peeves so, I make a point to not cover my journaling in any way and I avoid using pre-made tags and labels that are pee-adorned with clusters...unless it's displayed in such a way to provide ample space for writing.

I guess sometimes, for a number of reasons, the person wants to share the LO but not the journaling. So my guess is, that page won't be printed the way it was shared, but in a second, private version...

But in that case, shouldn´t be better to blur or put a colored stroke on that part of the journaling? I am with Kiana and Rose on that. I don´t think it looks good to put stuff on top of journaling on digiscrapping...

I'm with the others ....... personally, journalling and the pictures are the 2 most important elements to my scrapbook pages - but of course, they have to be pretty too!!!

I'm with Marisa. I'll slightly cover my journaling as long as you can still understand what's being written... this reminds me of that reading test:

"It deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe."

so if only a few letters or a small "sight word" like the, as, at, be, etc...are covered you can still read and understand the message, and the LO looks more realistic.

I might possibly be a bit of a journaling coverer, only because half the time I make up garbage, to use for journaling if it's on a template. It might be that I am using free pictures and don't know the people used, and the template looks good with the journaling and often times I am advertising the Template for the designer....hence the garbage journaling lol

I try not to overhang onto my text, but sometimes it just works out that way. But, only a few letters maybe. As long as the reader can still understand what it still being said.
