7 Fun & Bright Digital Scrapbooking Kits & Inspiration
I have definite preferences when it comes to the colors I like. In fact it might be possible that the strongest opinions I hold about anything may be about color. I will entertain a lot of ideas about life, but if you are here to tell me that your favorite color is blue I will cry a little in my heart. This means my heart is often crying because people are nuts about blue. And in fact the main reason I don't like blue is because I feel like it's overused. There are other colors you know!
Anyway, I will not be sidetracked with rants about different colors. Instead I am here to share digital scrapbooking kits from one of my favorite color feelings, BRIGHT AND FUN! There will be no moody blues and purples here. No browns or other colors you can't quite identify. I like my colors to know who they are and what they are doing. There will be no question what colors are being used, because they will grab your eyeballs and make you look. No indecision, no wondering. Just rainbows and good times.
I will open with maybe the culprit of my bright color obsession. Did you grow up with Lisa Frank? My love of colors that are (not quite) an assault on your eyeballs probably goes back to my childhood love of Lisa Frank. I would absolutely wallpaper my bedroom right now with those rainbow dolphins and friends and not regret it one bit. This Stars In My Eyes digital scrapbooking kit is me paying homage to a childhood hero.
This Good Day collaboration from a few years ago remains a favorite of mine. The colors a maybe a little bit more chill than in the previous option, but they are still going to bring a smile to your face and maybe make you look in your cupboards for some candy.
According to the gallery, I have used this bundle 12 times.
This Summer Lovin' Bundle is small but mighty. And I certainly will use it in the non-summer months. Neon rose patterns, yes please! There's nothing I love more than a technicolor floral pattern.
Speaking of technicolor floral patterns, this bright and fun digital scrapbooking kit from Allison Pennington speaks right to my bold heart. What am I supposed to do with a tiger on my layout? I don't know, but I'll sure give it a try.
As soon as I saw this rainbow digital scrapbooking kit from Rachel show up I sat down and made a layout with it (actually, I made 2). That's how these bright colors make me feel, like I must do something immediately.
I can't see this Good Life Bundle without immediately thinking of this lovely day we had as a family driving down the coast of California. And you know what I love about this bundle, the blue! I just like my blue in moderation and when it's there I want to make a statement.
Finishing off with an old favorite, but one that I definitely revisit frequently. In fact I recently added some hybrid friendly kits so I could use these digital scrapbooking kits in my travelers notebook.
I feel like that was a bit of roller coaster ride. I hope your eyeballs have survived the trip. Do you like bright colors? Maybe I've inspired you to give them a try?

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Good tips, and I love your albums
Thank you for these good advices , I had almost all of these kits, I downloded That Photo life . I like all the vibrant colors of these kits, thank you very much!
wow. All the pages look amazing. I hope to learn to do this someday.
I love the bright colors and Lisa Frank style! Yes! I totally grew up on it too! :D I usually find my photos don't reflect that, which is strange because I'm drawn to the brightly-colored, quirky places/attractions/art/things...weird.
I love color also! The one color I hate and don't use is that horrible mauve-y shade that was popular years ago and still shows up quite a bit. Bright color for me!
Yes yes yes! I LOVE color! The brighter and bolder, the more it makes me start imaging what layouts I could be making. I'm going to have to pick up a few of these kits - summer lovin, everything is terrible, that photo life - love that you review some of these older kits that I've missed...perhaps some of these were created before I joined. Anyway, I tend to use kits that match the colors or mood of the photos I'm scrapping but bright and bold colors are my favorite. I also think that black & white photos go very well with bright & bold palettes, so I'm sometimes inspired to change my photos to BW just so that I can go crazy using bright and bold colors.
That's not to say that I don't like other color palettes but it's usually the bright ones that catch my eye. Nice post!
The other main color difference for me is that I generally don’t sew with pink, aside from the occasional coral. But I’ve softened my stance towards it in scrapping, because it shows up in so many kits! Plus it’s been a lot less avoidable since having my daughter. ^_^
It’s an interesting question! As someone whose first creative hobby was sewing clothes, I’ve spent a lot of time over the years refining my color palette in terms of the colors/shades that I like to wear and that I feel look good on me, so I can buy fabric accordingly. There’s some overlap here, but especially over the last couple of years since I got into digi scrapping, it’s helped a lot with pushing some of those color boundaries that I’ve set. Some things are the same, like I love brighter, clearer shades of blue (sorry!), especially if they run towards aqua or teal. I also love brighter autumn tones, like yellow and orange and even olive green, and this comes out more in my scrapping than my sewing. I do tend to gravitate more towards brighter shades than muted or pastel overall, so when I do more toned down colored pages, it’s usually in response to a layout challenge or trying to use the month’s blog train.
Also…the reason I love blue? Every shade is beautiful! Some might be more trendy than others but it’s hard to find a not pretty blue…
Love this!! I like my colors to be very apparent too…no questioning. The only exception is a gorgeous that yellow/green/chartreusey wonderfulness. Oh it just makes any other color sing!! I’ve always loved your eye for color…your palettes are always so harmonious but not in a monochromatic way.
