Oct 2021 DM: Day 02

Try out a vector program and create a simple line/shape illustration. (Inkscape is free.)

(These prompts are meant to be challenging, not impossible. Feel free to adjust as necessary to suit your skill level. You are always welcome to use a graphic from this site if you can't create one yourself.)

I decided to try a turtle. Here's my line drawing version:

And then I played with adding some dimension again.

I think I'm kind of getting the hang of this, other than moving the files from Inkscape to PSE. That's still causing some problems.

Looks so cute Becky! Going between a vector program and a raster program like Photoshop is still tricky for me. I will often just copy a layer in one and then paste it in the other. Takes a bit of time if you have a lot of layers, but usually works.

I used the polygon tool to make two 6 sided polygons rotated one. Added an circle and * then over to photoshop to put a chipboard-style.

I kept it simple - a leaf. Tried adding veins, but I like it better without them.

I used the spiral tool, then went back and forth between PSP and PS to create an icy look and used snowflakes to go round and round.

Looking good!

I just don't know what to call this.... But is looks like somthing you can hang in the X-mas tree and it is homemade smiley

I'd call it a spiral. Looks good!

A spiral, where the cast has sit on LOL
Thanks Christina

You're welcome, Saskia. What is your theme?

Here is my flower.I took a preset form, and with selections and colors lpus a gglass effet and a button, here is my flower.

Great stuff ladies

Is this the same as Day1? I'm confused.

Day 2 workflow - edit: 10/5/2021 my image disappeared overnight ... I put it back

Yes, create another vector element.

Yes, I'm so happy smiley I watched 2 tutorials for beginners (in French, thank you Marisa) from Inkscape, and here is my snail made on this software. Then I imported it as png into my paintshop pro and colored it.

Wow, great-looking snail, Biche! Impessive! smiley

Thanks Christina , I admit that I am happy hihi, I do not control, I only used the spiral, and the Bézier curve. I would like to rework this software again, with layers, colors, .... to deepen it a little;) It still took me 5 days to understand the very first basics (understand LOL and not everything I have often messed up, now I have to remember)

You're welcome, Biche! I didn't really understand Inkscape. I had a lot of difficulties with it and only made easy, simple shapes. But your snail is spectacular. I love it.

well Christina I think you really have to try to see several tutorials from different people to understand what you can do. Some people think we all know the terms, so we're wrong ... so try several basic tutorials))) you'll see that some things fit better. On the other hand, it takes time, I still took 5 days to understand a very small piece of the software. and one day, I was almost done, when I had to make a bad maneuver, and splash, the software crashed piuffffffffff. I almost gave up LOL but my head is hard hihi
thanks for your sweet message smiley

I finally got something done. I'm using a program I have other than Inkscape. I hope that is ok.

Of course Deana! It says do whatever you want in every prompt smiley
