Hi y'all,

I am very new at this site and still trying to navigate through it all--lots of cool parts. I already introduced myself a few days ago in the initial Introduction post but then I just saw this one so here's a bit more about me.

1. I live in sunny Southern California, but we are currently under our October gloom. [edit: November]
2. I live with my husband, my best friend.
3. I've done some regular scrapbooking, but this is really my first real attempt at digital scrapping--specifically for family history pages.
4. My go-to recipe is probably Costco salmon--it's easy to thaw and cook, and it's a healthy choice.

It's great to be here!

Welcome!

Hi, Helen, Thanks for the Hugs and welcome!

1&2) I live in Pennsylvania with my husband, daughter (8), and 5 fish.

3) I started digital scrapping 8 years ago to document my daughter's life. Previous to that I basically just hoarded physical scrapping materials. I've been putting scrapping on the back burner because my laptop was old and clunky and couldn't load photoshop elements to do what I needed to do. I got a new computer today so I hope to get back into the hobby!

4) Fried Pork Chops and Apples

Season and pan fry 4-6 pork loin chops.
Slice 3-4 apples (I like Honeycrisp and I do not peel them), and an onion. Once the chops are 75% cooked remove them from the pan, add a few pats of butter, the onions, and the apple slices. Cook onions and apples for 3-5 minutes. After a few minutes of cooking pour in 1/2 cup chicken broth to deglaze the pan, a few spoons of brown sugar (to taste), a sprinkle of cinnamon, and the pork chops back in. Cook until your broth has thickened and your chops are completely cooked through.

Thanks for saying hi again!

Hi, I'm Janey.

I haven't posted here for about five years!

I live in Melbourne, VIC Australia, but I did spend the first two years of my marriage in Evergreen, CO, USA!

I live with my hubby of 20 years, and best friend of 25 years, Adrian.
We have 5 children - Toby (16), Meg (14), Maisie (12), Buzzy/Justin (11) and Nathalie (8). Our God-daughter, Astara (12), also spends a lot of time with us - more time with us than with her actual family - that we usually include her as well! Before Covid turned the world topsy-turvy, we often hosted students from Japan.

Life with 5 or 6 children is never boring, that's for sure!

We have 5 fur babies as well - two cats called Bear and Coraline, two rats called Pocky and Mochi, and a bunny called Smokey.

I stared digital scrapbooking in 2005 when my firstborn, Toby, was a newborn. I love the convenience of it, and that I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on equipments, etc ... I just use Paint.Net for my pages.

I'm having trouble thinking of a go-to recipe, as my husband is the cook in the family, and I am the taxi service! Our daughter, Maisie, is probably the best cook/baker in the family, and her signature dish is GF sticky toffee pudding! Our family's favourite dinner dish is baja steak bowl x

Hi, Janey, I'm amazed you have time to scrapbook!!! What a world you must live in with all that going on. So nice to have you with us!

Thanks for saying hi again Janey!

Where are you in the world? I'm Alli and I live on the eastern shore of MD smiley
Who lives with you in your house? My husband and two teens, one 18 and one 17.
How long have you been scrapping? I've been scrapping since 2006!
A go-to recipe, something you cook all the time: My favorite is chili, a recipe from my MIL. Here's the recipe:
Betty's Chili
1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
1 large can of tomato sauce
2 small cans of red kidney beans
1 med onion, chopped
1 toe of garlic, minced
1 cup of water
salt
pepper
1 Tbsp of chili powder
Brown ground beef in large pot, drain. Add the onion, garlic, and tomato sauce for 3-5 min, until onions are transparent. Stir in tomato sauce, water and spices. Heat until boiling and turn down to med-low heat. Add kidney beans and cook for about an hour, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender and "mush" when scraped to the side of the pot! Enjoy!
Optional toppings:
grated cheddar cheese
sour cream
green onions
Fritos, crushed smiley

Thanks Alli!

Hello everyone! My name is Jennyfuur and I am 37 years old. My Sweetheart and I just bought a home in the middle of nowhere Utah a year ago. We both grew up in Utah and we were lucky enough to leave for about five years and live in a travel trailer on an island in the Puget Sound in Washington. It is so freeing to get rid of almost everything you own and live so minimally. We learned a lot and changed our mindset and outlook on life.

Now that we are back in Utah we are finding many new adventures and places. We have one son who is 17. We lost one of our fur babies right before we moved and one a few months ago, but we just adopted a new furry bundle of joy. She is about 14 weeks old and a heeler golden doodle mix. It is weird to be back in the puppy stage after 15 years since the last one!

I have been scrapbooking for most of my life and digital scrapbooking for probably ten+ years. I have been enjoying Pixel Scrapper for 3 years now. I use GIMP for everything I do.

I just joined but I'll do the re-hello anyway! smiley

1. Where are you in the world: Just outside Seattle

2. Who lives with you in your house: My teen son, my young adult son & my happily unmarried boyfriend of 25 years (lol). Easier just to say husband at this point.

3. How long have you been scrapping. Traditional since the early 90's but converted to digital in 2017.

4. A go-to recipe, something you cook all the time. I make a great lemon pepper shrimp and pasta dish:

2 lbs shrimp
Pasta of your choice
1/2 carton of ckn broth
2T minced garlic
1/2c butter
Bag of frozen peas
Lemon juice
Black pepper
Lemon pepper seasoning
Old bay seasoning

1. Cook pasta according to directions
2. In skillet, add butter, stock, peas. Cook on medium until butter is melted
3. Add seasonings & lemon juice until you get the flavor you like
4. Add shrimp until cooked through
5. Add pasta, toss & serve with salad & garlic bread

I am a returning scrapper. Began digital scrapping around 15 years ago after paper scrapping for awhile. Got lost in life a few years ago and gave it up for awhile. Moved to the country and spent most of my time gardening and all that goes with country life. Then I had a stroke almost three years ago which made it difficult to do much scrapping. Now I'm able to pick up where I left off and am ready to get back to scrapping.

I'm in east Texas - in the piney woods! No neighbors, lots of deer and squirrels and birds.

My son owns the land; we own our mobile home together.

We have an apricot standard poodle (his) and a black toy poodle (mine). They are both almost 12 but still very active.

Using Paint Shop Pro I combine my genealogy with scrapping to produce books for my family. As a result now my sister has fallen victim to scrapping as well. smiley

As for a recipe I cook all the time? My son and I are on a carnivore diet at the moment, so I cook meat and eggs - no veggies or fruit. So my cooking is strictly whatever meat I want at the time. But way at the top of this thread is a recipe I commented on two years ago that used to be our go-to dish. It will be again someday.

Btw, I'm about to become a great grandmother to triplets! A boy and two girls, so I'll have lots of things to scrap soon! They have a 2 year old big brother who is excited to add them to the family.

Thanks for saying hi Linda! Triplets!!!! smiley

Yep. They anticipate delivering them Mar 22 so it's getting close. My grandson is beside himself with joy. I hope to scrap a lot with those babies and their big brother. He's two!

Can't wait to see the layouts smiley

My name is Sigrid, I live in Schleswig Holsten Germany with my husband, who unfortunately is often in the hospital lately, we hope that will change
we have a daughter and two granddaughters, are both 70 years old and have always had German shepherd dogs, our last dog died two years ago and we don't have a new one.
we have a large garden in which there is always work,
I like graphics and scape very much, my program is Photoshop

Thanks for saying hello Sigrid!

Hi! It’s been a while! I lost tge use of my computer for about 2 years… and I no longer work outside the home, so saving up for a computer took a while. I have one now, and started up my subscription again. Oof… having to wait 6 months for full privileges is kinda tough… but I’m psyched about being here again. I also sell creative memories stuff currently, so I also scrapbook by hand. Like Marissa said in her blog post though, it’s nice to be able to store it all on your hard drive instead of your bedroom!

@Marisa, I live in Minneapolis - I read somewhere you originated in Minnesota?! I love my Minneapple! We live downtown just a few blocks from the sculpture garden, where the famous cherry on the spoon is!

I’ve been scrapbooking for 21 years - I started when I was pregnant with my 3rd daughter! I have been digital scrapbooking a few years now, although I use Forever Artisan. I like It, It’s simple. I mostly just drag and drop, add a little detail here and there / I am starting to make my own layouts, instead of using their “click and fill” software. It’s a fun challenge! I participated in my first CM digital platform and was pleased with the results!

A good to recipe / tator tot hotdish

Add corn and soup; mix. Place into cake pan
Cover in cheese. Layer tator tots (frozen is fine) Bske in oven at 400 * for 20 to 25 min, until tots are toasty to your taste. ENJOY!

*you can add onion or garlic to taste, if you want

Welcome back Trish! I am originally from MN and have a lot of family there so I visit often.

Welcome back, Trish!

Hi I live in Oklahoma. My husband and I have a bit of land and live rural. I have never scrapbooked. I do some dabbling in digital Artwork. I make cards each month for my 4 children and their spouses just to tell them I love them. I put together Calendars and I love making Mixed Media books. I am so glad I found this site! Thank you for such an amazing place! I am a homemaker and I watch one of my grandsons during the week. I love to bake Bread it is a favorite! Here is a go to easy no knead recipe I use often.
Easy French Bread
1 cup water
3 Tbl Honey
1 Tbl yeast
1/4 cup Olive Oil
2 Tsp Salt
6-8 cups Bread Flour or All purpose flour which ever you have.
Put dry ingredients into your mixer with your dough hook ( start with 6 cups of flour.) and give it a slow spin to combine. Then slowly pour in the wet ingredients. If your dough is to sticky add flour 1/2 cup at a time until it makes a nice ball. Mix slowly for 8 minutes. Dump into a greased bowl and let rise until double usually about an hour. Divide dough in to 2 pieces and shape into french bread loaves. Place on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Let rise 30 min. Slash 3 lines across top of loaf and bake in a preheated 350* oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Happy to meet you!

Thanks for the recipe Becky!

You are welcome:)

Hi, my name is Robin and I have been away from this site for quite some for many reasons. A car accident caused me to not be able to use my right hand (I am right handed) and it was was to difficult to use my left. Then my computer broke down and was being repaired for weeks. Now we have moved to a new house and it seemed to take forever getting internet up and running but I was unable to access the site for the last 6 months. My tech guy installed another browser so that I am able to now get into site. What a long road to get here. I have missed all the beautiful work on this site. I also missed participating in the blog train which I did for a long time. Hopefully I can get back to designing.

Welcome back Robin! Glad things are looking up for you.

Hi Marisa & all

my name is Helene ( prounouced Elena) but I get called everything from H to Helsy
I live in the UK recently moved back down south from up North, it was too cold for me and it rains a lot up there. I have come to the conclusion I would rather be a beach bunny than a frosty snowman smiley

My Main interests are my dogs, I have leonbergers which are a german giant breed, thats my little girl with me in my profile pic when she was a pup, she is now nearly 8 and weighs just under 84kgs. She's a big girl. Scrapbooking which I haven't really done for years ( well since my daughters grew up) but my eldest daughter is expecting her first baby so I have gotten back into it, and cooking. I cook a lot, love new recipes and love feeding people. Only thing I can't cook is bake a cake, quite honestly my cakes are awful and even the birds refuse to eat them.
I read a lot, anything and everything.

Hello & a warm welcome Helene!
There are so many helpful tutorials here,
to get you back into scrapping in no time!

Welcome Helene! Thanks for saying hello.

My name is Lauren and I go by Tuli. I don't actually scrapbook, but I do digital art and work with numerous programs, including Photoshop Elements and Poser 11 (3D animation program). I also alter cigar boxes, journals, sketchbooks, bottles, and small cabinets. I will be getting into laser cutting soon! I am rather bashful on the forums but I am working on coming out of my shell more. I don't work anymore because I recently became disabled with a bone and nerve condition that only affects my feet and ankles (so far), and makes it very hard to walk/stand for any period of time or sleep well.

I live on a 121 acre farm in a small township in southwest Missouri (United States) with my taller half (he likes to stay anonymous) and our 11 terrorists...err...cats. (We named our last six after Greek mythological monsters). We have a large wooded area on our property that is beautiful and inspirational, and a fair bit of wildlife as well.

As I said before, I don't do scrapbooking, but I do a lot of digital designing and I sometimes print off items to layer onto boxes, books, and cabinets. I sell them at the local Farmer's Market in the Big Town in the summers. I do this with a friend and we don't have a website, just a Facebook page where we show off our latest creations. We actually made a couple of cabinets from cigar boxes!

When I am not working on boxes, books, or digital art, I read, write poetry and speculative fiction, cross-stitch, record a podcast where I offer book reviews.

As for a go-to recipe, I have recently discovered Briam (Greek roasted vegetables) and I am addicted:

Slice all vegetables approximately 1/4 inch (approx 1/ cm) thick. Slice enough vegetables to make a full layer in whatever oven-safe cooking pan you will use. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (204 C). Season with salt, pepper, rosemary, and oregano. You will also need 1/4 to 1/2 cup (59 ml -118 ml) extra virgin olive oil:

Veggies:
Golden potatoes
Onion
Bell peppers/sweet peppers
Eggplant
Portabello mushrooms
Tomatoes

Toss potatoes with seasonings and a splash of olive oil. Layer on bottom of pan.
Add layer of onions. Add layer of peppers. Season with salt, pepper, and spices.
Add layer of eggplant. Add layer of mushrooms. Season with salt pepper, and spices. Add another layer of onions.
Top with fresh tomatoes. Pour in olive oil. Cover with foil. Bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake 40 minutes.
Let cool for several minutes. Top with some of the olive oil from the pan and fresh parsley and serve with crusty bread and a slice of Feta cheese. Use bread to sop up olive oil. This can be served hot or cold. It also makes a tasty side dish.

There are many, many ways to make this dish; this is just how I like it. You can add or remove any veggies you like/don't like.
