Scraptorial - Make-A-Kit Extravaganza (Day 22 - Make-A-Kit Checklist)

I tried to post this last week, but it went missing into the ether, and that is probably a good thing. I have recomposed/modified/augmented and am sharing now in a hopefully much more coherent form than the one my allergies helped me write up earlier! smiley

Do you ever run out of ideas for what to include to put the finishing touches on a kit? Well, here is a checklist with 150+ ideas that you can look over and perhaps not have to think so hard about what you might still like to create and include.

Day 22-ish Challenge: Look over the Make-A-Kit Checklist and see if you are missing anything you would still like to create and include in your kit. No pressure to use any of these ideas, of course, but I thought it might be a helpful asset for finishing up this kit and creating future kits. Please let me know if I missed anything you think would be fun/helpful to include on the list. I would be more-than-happy to edit and add more ideas to make this an even more useful asset for all of us. I also encourage you to ask questions, if you have them about creating anything that is included on the list or to correct my spelling/naming of things. smiley I will be nothing but thankful for your help!

Great! Thanks so much for a great month and such great information. HUGS

Thanks for this list. I am sure I will push on your button on how to make something. Thanks for the month of tuts, it was really fun and I am going to miss it, but will carry on trying new things.

Hugs right back atcha, Sarah! smiley It has been a really fun month for me, too. The only thing keeping me from being big sad about it almost being over, is thinking we can do this again . . . January maybe? Always looking for something fun to do when Christmas is over.

You're welcome, Gail. I am so happy to hear you had fun. We will still have the weekly Scraptorials and if there is anything in particular that sounds like fun to learn, let me know.

January would be great, people need a pickmeup after christmas and new years.

quick questions. its okay to use the custom shapes in the program in our designs, correct? thanks

was thinking, could you maybe do a scraptorial on flowers? That would be cool. thanks

Wow, what a list! There's a lot on there to get the creative juices flowing. I'm going to add a few more papers and glitter elements. That list gave me a few ideas. So, thanks for that!

Awesome, awesome lists!
So thankful for you and the hours of work and energy you put into all these things!
You are amazing, don't ever stop being YOU!
God bless you!

This is GREAT! Thanks for all your time & I hope you are healing.

Hi Annette, Hope you are feeling better. I went through this list and have some questions:
1. What is mulberry paper
2.What is a verdi Gris element
3. What is the difference between a Journal card, journal spot and journal page
4. What is a fabric yo-yo

"Yes" to custom shapes that come with PS. They would all be okay for Commercial Use. If you got them someplace else, they would be governed by the creator of the shape set as to whether they are CU or PU. Is that what you meant, Sarah?

Gail,
I don't know what most of those are either. Out of curiosity I looked up fabric yo-yo and above is a picture

Thanks Tricia. It will be interesting to learn to make,

I looked up how they are physically made...not difficult. Taking a photo then extracting could be tedious...but there are several versions in the graphics here. I downloaded one to try later. https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/janet-scott/designs/fabric-flower-template-012-embellishment-yo-accordion-textile-cotton-sewing

Thank you for all your hard work, Annette! I'm not sure I will get my bundle finished before Christmas, but this has been a really good experience for me, both with the designing and also with the interaction with the other participants.

And, yes, please keep the Scraptorials coming! It would be really good to have a "Scraptorial" sticky at the beginning of the Designer Challenge forum, to keep everything together, though.

I am LOVING your list but cannot get excited about making anything right now. My son's musical is in two weeks and as the assistant to the costumer I am overwhelmed and tired...so you may not see much of me until after the 16th when they have their closing show. I still need to qc some stuff, but I have been uploading as I design with a publication date of this weekend...so at least my designs will be here when I am not. LOL So looking forward to everyone's creations!!

Sorry, Gail. I read this, pulled up some pictures and then promptly forgot to reply. smiley

Mulberry paper is handmade paper, usually with pieces of fiber visible or bits of flowers. It usually has a tattered edge that is one of my favorite bits about it. I first learned of it when I was physically scrapping, but it could easily be re-created in digital format. I found some kits at Creativemarket.com if you want to see what that might look like.

Verdigris (no space--totally blew that spelling) is "a bright bluish-green encrustation or patina formed on copper or brass by atmospheric oxidation, consisting of basic copper carbonate." Think Statue of Liberty. She has verdigris. So bluish-green rust. smiley One of my favorite sets of styles is called "Funky Rust" and it has several verdigris styles included.

Journal cards are square and made in specific sizes: 3 x 4, 4 x 4, 4 x 6. Also called "pocket cards." Like this or this.

Journal spots might be something I made up, but I thought it meant a card/label-type element intended to be a place for journaling. Not necessarily square. Could be a fun shape. (Might also be a product that I was supposed to sell to my customers back in the day when I was a Creative Memories consultant.)

Journal page was me trying to express something like this or this.

Fabric yo-yo's are so much fun. Like Tricia said, there are extracted ones in the Graphics Section. And I used one of those to make this cluster for a kit.

Hope that helps, Gail.

I hear ya on the "tired" part, Tricia. I am exhausted and I don't know when I will find the energy to pack the stuff up that I made for this challenge. I guess as long as it is before Christmas, I will still be doing okay. I hope the play goes swimmingly and you enjoy your time away, but don't you dare forget to come back after the 16th! smiley I will be waiting to see your stuff pop up in the Commons!

Tell your son to "break a leg" for me and I will be anxious to see your scrapbook pages from the event. FUN!

Thanks Annette, you are a star. This challenge series has been awesome and has made me google and do a lot of research on how to make things, I am looking forward to the quality checks. Something new for me. LOL

Hopefully you will get it sometime to rest once this kit qc section is written. Thanks for all you've done! It's been amazing fun and a great community builder.

I will tell Jared you wished him the best. Thanks! I will try to check in, but probably no designing. I finished QCing my elements for Desert... but still need to upload the kit. After that I've run out of kits for a week and still have stuff to upload smiley

Annette, you could do a Scraptorial on Extracting. Which is the best tool to use in different situations. This would probably have to have some information on Selecting, too.
