Omigosh... I'm late to the party. This thread is 10 years old! My name is Lesley and I'm just sticking my toes into the waters of scrapbooking. I was a photographer in the AF many many moons ago. Now I am a dog walker/pet sitter by day (yes, it's a great job) and trying to figure out what colors go together by night.
Hi! My name is Sara. I live in the the United States, and I’m 29 years old. I have always enjoyed crafting in general, but I especially love working with paper. I only recently started getting into scrapbooking/digital scrapbooking so it’s all still fairly new to me. If I’m being honest, after I had my children that I love so very much, I kind of lost myself. My life, from the time they were born, has revolved around them and being their mother/caretaker. I will always be grateful for that privilege. As I'm sure most already know that being a mother is a full time job. 24/7, 365 days a year. So while I wouldn’t change being a mom for the world, I did sort of lose sight of who I am. I realized one day that I don’t know what I enjoy doing, what my interests are, etc.. I had become so wrapped up in being a mother that I completely lost sight of who I was as a person. So I’ve been trying to find myself again and figure out what my interests are. I’m open to any and all suggestions, tips, advice, etc., so if you have any, please let me know! Thank you for allowing me to be part of this lovely community. ☺️
Hi, Sara. It's been a couple of decades since my son was a kid and I'm now a grandma. However, the thing I remember about that same feeling (having lost yourself to motherhood, especially in the first several years) is that I began doing things with my son that I enjoyed at the time, things that I had stopped doing because he was so young and couldn't participate. It's important to make time for yourself (that wasn't really a thing in my day), even if it's just 20 minutes to meditate/do yoga, read, scrapbook, color/paint, shop online, go for a walk, or what have you. Try Googling "hobbies for women" or something similar. There are a gazillion things out there to try. Perhaps reading through a list might spark interest in something.
@Sara: I know a lot of people get into scrapbooking to make mementos for their kids, but for me scrapbooking has always been a personal interest and has remained so even after having kids. I scrapbook because I enjoy it, any mementos are kind of a nice bonus
Marisa- I've always enjoyed messing with paper. I'm not sure why, but ever since I was a kid I remember playing with an old suitcase that I'd put random papers, notebooks, etc. in and pretend to be a teacher or secretary of some sort. I'm weird but oh well. 😂
Christina- Thank you for the advice. I'm definitely going to google it and see what I can come up with and hopefully I'll find something that I'll stick with and enjoy. I'm super interested in making scrapbooks, junk journals, art journals, altered books, etc., but I'm at the stage where I'm at a loss on what to do. I look up ideas on Pinterest and see so many awesome ideas and techniques, but when I go to actually try them myself, I freeze and am at a loss on what to do. I just can't think of any specific ideas or what exactly to create and I can't seem to move passed it. I've literally looked up so many articles and watched so many youtube videos about creative blocks and how to get over them, but nothing has worked. It's very frustrating because I want to do these things, but I draw a blank whenever I have the opportunity to do it.

Sara: Sounds as though your mind is in overdrive. Happens to me all the time; that's why I meditate. Marisa has some great advice in her My Top Advice For Digital Scrapbooking blog post. Even the commenters left additional advice. Scraplifting and using layout templates both will help with technique, inspiration, and get the creative juices flowing.
I am Louise, from Belgium. Active with stuff from this site for about 6 months or so. Sometimes I think that what I like most is organizing all the thingies I download, instead of really do the scrapbook work!
I work with Albelli to make my books, but have bought PSE a few weeks ago, which I am learning now to improve.
Hello everyone. I'm Laurie. I am from Missouri. I've been a crafter for as long as I can remember. I've been paper crafting for about 23 years and have just recently (about 6 months or so) started doing digital scrapbooking. My current project (that I will be beginning this week) is to make pages for my family tree notebooks (did I mention that I've been doing genealogy for about 40 years now). Anyways, can't wait to see the designs and learn techniques and crafting tips from everyone.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the genealogy stuff. I started doing genealogy as a summer project and then moving on at the end of the summer. That was in 1997. Still messing with it. That's one of the main things I want to do with the digital scrapbooking but I don't really have any idea of where or how to start.
Organizing is not my strong suit. I use PaintShop Pro for my scrapbooking but I also have PSE. (Some people collect scrapbooking elements, I collect photo programs. I try to blame it on my past as an Air Force photographer and then a newspaper photographer, but really it's just because I like to play with them.
I like trying out painting and digital art programs myself. My favorite ones are Autodesk Sketchbook and Procreate. Autodesk Sketchbook allows more layers to a project than procreate. But procreate has infinitely easier brush manipulation.
My mom got me interested in genealogy when I was 10. The local genealogy center was about 5 blocks from our house and in the summer we would walk up there (along with my siblings). The center was in the basement of the local library. The first day we went the librarian gave us kids a pile of books to read through, they were about the history of the state (Missouri). I started asking questions and just never stopped. It'll 42 years this July. I've got most of the facts, now I want to put faces to names. My grandmother gifted me her cedar chest full of old family photos. I'll be scanning them in and adding them to my scrapbook. I can't wait to get started.
Hello, I’m Barb Dewell. I’ve been working in various artistic media for a while now, using real hands-on materials – paper, paints, crayons, pencils, textiles, buttons, etc., and then I added computer generated artwork as soon as I discovered it.
I don’t design yet as far as creating the kinds of elements that are on this site. Instead, I’ve been participating in Art Challenges offered on different sites, using Digital Graphic Art elements to create my version of the current Challenge on the sites.
That started me on my quest for great elements to use. And now, here I am, not only loving the gorgeous graphic elements from DigitalScrapbook.com that I can use in my personal artwork, but now I’d love to learn how to create pieces that I can upload to this site for others to use in their creations. It’s really exciting to think I could do this! Fingers crossed on that dream.
I’m living in the High Desert of New Mexico in my tiny home on top of a hill. I have a wonderful dog, Charlie, who is 4 years old, half Australian Shepherd and half German Shepard, and is totally deaf. His backyard companions are my four Black Australorp hens, who are almost one year old. They free-range all day long, and Charlie and I just love watching them and tending them, and collecting their eggs every day.
I live in Antioch, CA, which is about 50 miles east of San Francisco. I was widowed in 2014, but was happily married to my husband for 13 years. We were together for over 25 years. I have 4 kids, 6 grandkids, and 2 furry kids – a cat and a dog.
I am retired/disabled because I had a stroke 10 years ago. I was lucky enough to have been able to recover almost completely.
I am a stroke survivor. I am lucky enough to have been able to recover almost completely. Most people that meet me cannot tell that I had a stroke. I still don’t have my right hand back to working right, but that is a small price to pay.
I spend my days creating scrapbooks pages, rubberstamped cards, and mixed media artwork.
My main hobbies are Scrapbooking, Rubber Stamping, Paper Crafts, Mixed Media Art, and painting.

I don't do a ton of digital scrapbooking because I have learned that part of the joy of scrapbooking is digging through all of the supplies and mixing different textures. Hello everyone. I've been a member of this site since 2015 but never really interacted because of social anxiety LOL. I try to stay away from social media as it affects my mental health. I've been playing with graphics and been a graphic designer since 1999. Now days I am a data analyst, mom of 5, and fanartist (I like drawing anime characters. My pfp is as close to a self portrait as I can get until I get comfortable with having a photo of myself online again.) I have made scrapbooks for my kids and my favorite moments in my life and have done digital one for friends. I live in Ohio and am 40 years old but a kid at heart. I love crafting.

I have been crafting for 50+ years but lately have just been shopping for things instead of creating. Hoping to change that and make some things again. I do a lot of hybrid stuff but am trying to do some digital scrapbooking if I can get comfortable enough with PSE. Have hundreds of kits that I have collected over 25 + years but never use them.

Hi, I am new here. My name is Sandy and I live in Goderich, Ontario Canada, a small town on Lake Huron. I am a wife and mother of adult children with amazing grandchildren and now 2 great grandchildren.
I have always been creative. I used to sew a lot making costumes for church plays. I have always loved photography since clicking the lever on my Mom's old Brownie camera as a young girl. When I got my first DSLR in 2013 I took an online photography course for 4 years and my skills really took off. I take a lot of photos when we travel with our trailer, and wildlife, nautre and landscape when we are close to home.
I have so many pictures but what to do with them? That led me to checking out digital scrapbooking. I am just beginning to delve into it so appreciate this site with so many creative inspiration. Not sure how much I can be involved here because I have had multiple concussions so I have to limit my participation in things because of it.
