Spring 2023 Creation Call DC

I followed a neutral-ish call. Here is my swatch

Inspired by Gaile's beautiful cog papers from the May DC and Rachel's new release in gray and mustard!
Next call is to create something with the color red.
There is a little bonus for participants: CU templates of my 1st take.
Edit April 22nd 2023,
Here is another take.

Oh, this ought to be interesting...and fun! I really love this idea! smiley smiley Love the neutral colors you used, Bina.

I'll take red.

I created a flower using one of my existing flower petal shapes. I used the Burn and Dodge tools on one petal, then duplicated and rotated them around the center at varying degrees. I moved them around a bit, placing them more towards the center. With the circle center, I used one of my Eye Candy Noise presets, one of my PSP bevel presets, and one of my Eye Candy glass presets. I then used the Soften tool around the edges of the center and applied a centered drop shadow. And finally, I put a drop shadow on each petal. I resized my preview to 1200 X 1200, then added the flower, because it was so lonely with all that wide open space. LOL The flower itself is 965 X 908.

Your call is to create a square frame.

Hi Bina. Love your paper. Glad I could inspire you. I will try the square frame.
Did the polaroid frame with an embossed wording and a grain and bubble wrap texture.

Create something blue

Love your flower

Christina: So happy to see you here and your beautiful flower, love it! Thank you for describing your creative process as well and explaining how you made this flower!!! I love how it turned out, Christina. The center is v e r y beautiful, too. smiley

Gail, so happy to see you playing along with this mega cool frame, love it! smiley Thanks for joining.

Pleasure. Your challenges make my brain go into overdrive. LOL

Love how the frame has a metal look to it. With that texture, the glare shows really well. "Love This" really pops! What is that font?

Thank you so much, Bina! Yeah, I thought I'd give a little description as to how it was created in case anyone wanted to give it go. However, burn and dodge do take practice. They're great to use, though for giving things depth and a bit of a pop! I also use those tools when making banner flags, as it creates the illusion that the string is going through the top of the flag.

Thanks Christina.
The font I used is: Thirsty Rough Blk Two
If you have an adobe account you can download it form there. They have a lot of fonts.

I was waiting to see if someone else would take blue. Since no one has, I'll take it. lol

Parts of the wings are semi-transparent, so papers or elements underneath them will show through. I actually made this all in PS. Usually I go back and forth, but I thought I'd try it solely in PS for a change. I really can't get a bevel to be completely rounded on all parts of elements. The butterfly's body portion I wanted a rounded bevel on it. I just don't it. LOL

You call is to create something related to springtime.

Oh, so pretty, Christina. smiley Lovely butterfly. This can be the beginning of a pattern. Thanks for joining in and sharing your beautiful creation. smiley
Here is a lil spring thing... cherry flowers to go with my original neutral colors.

Next call is to make a flower.

Oh, that is gorgeous, Bina! It's like a bit of steampunk was thrown in.

smiley Thank you, Christina! So happy you like it. I tried to be steampunk with the first submission, so glad it is starting to show. I made more brass things ...

Lovely element.

Beautiful butterfly

With these loadsheddings playing havoc with my time. I will play with one of my flowers I made for the designer challenge I.

Used a flower from Lisa Rosa Designs_Paper flower 1, Christines screw 2 and applied a rust style to it.

My next call is a flourish

smiley That is one pretty flower, Gail! I think it goes with your frame! Thanks for sharing. Are you hosting your images with imgur, Gail?

Yes, why?

When you ul an image to imgur you can edit it and change the bg for example. Your flower shows off w a y more on a white bg and you can alter this with imgur without having to ul the image to a host again. IT's a neat feature, I use it all the time. smiley

I am going to go for the flourish and next is a transfer. I made this for a challenge a while back so I am cheating a bit here but I hope it is ok as I ended up not submitting it. I made this playing around with Adobe fresco, PS and Photofilter.

will ul soon

Thanks Bina. I'll give it a try. On my imgur it doesn't give me an option. I can only crop or resize. I should have loaded as a jpeg.
Love your flourishes

Sorry Gail, I might have explained this, sorry. You click edit and then enter the promt, all there is is the lil picsart logo on a white background that also shows for galleries that you can embed on your blog for example. I really don't mind it. It disappears with the paid version. All there is to do is to follow the prompt by clicking NEXT in the imgur image edit module. It is green and in the upper right of the monitor. It will save as jpg by default.

Now, the flower looks sooo great. Steampunkish even. Ties in nicely with my contribution, too Great stuff! All the beautiful texture is showing, many thanks Gail!! smiley

I'm interested in those line art flowers, so this is my call. ( This wil be shared with the May BT)

I was going to try a steampunk style with your letter challenges and found out it was a bit to difficult for me. I will post them all in the commons.

Pretty flower Cintia.

smiley Lovely flowery transfer, Cintia! Thank your playing along and joining in. Since you haven't called: Next is something Steampunk(ish).

Oh, there was a game in here. Sorry Bina, I didn't notice. smiley

Nice flowers, Gail and Cintia! Love all that gold detail in your pattern, Bina!

Here is one more Steampunk Paper. Next is something line art.

I used Janet Kemps item 318180 for this paper.

I'll take line art.

Instead of doing an outlined element, I put some journaling lines on some paint. That's still line art, right? LOL Uploading to the Commons.

Since next week is Be Kind to Animals Week, your call is something to do with animals.
