Any Cloggers Here?

I have just restarted clogging in 2025 after an absence of around 25 years, and I had forgotten how much I love it!

Does anyone else here do clogging?

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, clogging is a type of dance where the dancers have taps attached to the soles of their shoes... a bit like tap shoes, but clogging taps have two metal plates, instead of tap dancing's single tap; the tap that strikes the floor is loosely attached to the sole tap, so cloggers kind of "jingle" when we move.

Clogging originated in the Appalachian Mountain area of the USA, but its roots go back to countries like Ireland, Scotland, and other European countries; immigrants to America brought their dance steps with them, and as dancers taught each other their steps, the style developed into what we know as clogging today.

Traditionally, clogging was performed to bluegrass-, country- and folk-style music, but really, virtually any style of music that has a good strong beat can be clogged to - anything from pop, rock, latin... you get the picture!

IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

Sounds super fun Robyn!

Oh, Marisa, it really is fun! It's great exercise, and you meet some really nice people, too!
