About Me
My scrapbooking journey all started with my husband.
Every year, i would design a calendar with a monthly calendar grid complemented by family photos, but one fateful year, he asked for something different. In previous years, he might like a photo on the January monthly calendar very much, but because it was so obviously a calendar, he felt rather foolish displaying it in his office past the month and would take it down to avoid being teased. After he came across some Japanese anime calendars which are almost completely posters save for a line of numbers at the bottom, he thought maybe i could do something similar?
And so i thought, and i thought, and finally something clicked in my mind. Why not get some inspiration from the scrapbooking community, and work with a scrapbooking theme? From then on, yours truly started slowly but surely falling in love with the whole scrapbooking world!

Journalling reads:
This whole week was all about Chinese New Year, whether we were preparing for it, or gathering for it and celebrating it. Most of the decorations around the house are handmade, simply because the kids keep coming back from school and classes with them. Midweek, we take a trip to Sutera Mall to buy bak kwa and oranges, not expecting to see a lion dance performance and also get our picture taken with 财神爷(god of fortune). (Neko-chan is more interested in the chocolate coins that both the lion and 财神爷 hand out to shoppers.)
On 除夕 (Chinese New Year's Eve) we have the customary steamboat reunion dinner with Waipo and Jiujiu, while Ah Gong wants to be different this year and opts for lunch at Ichiban Sushi. 初一 (first day of CNY) this year is also special, as a record number of four Goh siblings gather together at Yong Peng for lunch!
Note: Chinese New Year's Eve is a very important day in the Chinese lunar calendar. This is the day where ethnic Chinese all over the world make their way back home for a reunion meal with their family. For many aged parents whose grown children have left home and settled in faraway cities, this is the time where they get to see (almost) all their children together. Similarly for us 'children', the older we get, the more special this day becomes!

Diana, your layouts are lovely and colorful but I especially like this one. My boss always goes down to the city of Philadelphia for Chinese NY so I know the importance of this special day in speaking with her. Her family also hands out $2 bills and you are supposed to keep them in your wallet so that you are never broke. She gave me one this year which is still in my wallet and will remain there forever. I love this because of all it stands for and the photos are wonderful. :)
I love the glitter too! The photos are laid out so well and they're so interesting!
The glitter is a nice touch. Very pretty!
