Description
Still working on my book about Maggie.
journaling reads:
Baby animals are just so sweet and precious.
So often as an animal grows up they lose
that sweet look and temperment. Our
Maggie, however, got cuter and developed
a wonderful personality as she grew. Everyone
that knew her just fell in love with her.
She liked things "her way" - don't we all -
but would listen and comply when I insisted.
One huge exception to that was when I
took her to Puppy Obedience School. She
absolutely hated it and totally refused to
cooperate. The first week she tinkled on
the floor. Then the next week she barked
and would not quiet down for 25 minutes.
The third week she pooed on the floor and
so on and so on. The instructor said, "I
think she is trying to tell us something,
Elaine." We managed to go for the full 10
weeks (I think just because everyone figured
we would quit), but we didn't pass. She did
get a certificate of completion however, and
later remembered the lessons to heel, sit,
come and stay and would do it all.
Jenny's Keisha was three years older than
Maggie and as a baby had harrassed our
Jesse to no end. She got her own back
when Maggie came along, because Maggie
wouldn't leave her alone for a minute. She
chased her and bugged her until Keisha would
finally find a spot where Mag couldn't get
her! Steve told her “Paybacks really tough
Keisha!”
