Graphics Tablet Beginner Challenge - Flower, Leaf, Bird (due 4/8)

This week's challenge is to use your graphics tablet to draw a few simple elements. Since it's spring, I'm thinking nature and rebirth, so I would like you to draw some spring doodle elements: a flower, a leaf, and a bird. It's your choice how simple or complex you go with them, but I recommend using at least two layers to give yourself practice at coloring under a doodle. You can do a simple line-art sketch with a solid fill behind it, or do a dozen layers of color to create something fabulously unique; the point is to get used to using the tablet to draw lines and fill in areas.

Post an image of your completed doodles here when you're finished with them, and then feel free to use them as your own CU creations!

I got an ipad and pencil in December so I am still very new to this. I want to encourage you to keep drawing. It is fun and very therapeutic. Making art is not a competition! Creating things brings great happiness, whether we are creating art, music, dance, a pleasant work culture, or a happy home.. there is no competition. So take pride in what you create and share it here for all to see.

I love doodles, especially when I know they were hand (or mouse) drawn. I am a doodler, I doodle on everything.

Gina, I love those rose doodles! So cool! I still haven't pulled out my tablet, but I will. Thanks for this challenge, Holly!

I'm still not totally thrilled with the bird, but it's passable. I worked in Illustrator this week, so these are resizable to any scale I need.

Holly, your bird is wonderful!! Fantastic job on all 3 elements.

Thank you Lisel. The flowers are now available for download.

Let me encourage you to get out the tablet and draw. It is awkward at first but once you get use to it, it's a lot of fun.

Thanks, Gina! I will be trying to work on the tablet this week.

......and, I found my tablet, but the pen isn't with it. I have no idea where it would be. I'm usually really good about keeping items that go together, together. So........grrrrr!

My granddaughter swiped my ipad and drew a bird using procreate.

Love that she's starting to do some art!

Thanks Holly.

Out of my nine grandkids, most of them are very artistic.. so are my daughters. They each prefer a different medium though. I'm the only one that prefers digital art.
