Oh, your Fruitopia kit is ADORABLE, Christina! Had to have it for my stash. Thanks so much for creating that and sharing a linky for it. I am excited to unpack it and see all the goodies. You are a very talented designer, my dear, and I am so happy you have time to get back to it these days. smiley

Annette I love the names for your colors

Happy Dance Hug!

Of course I don't mind, Jill! Whatever works for the kit you have in mind is A-OK. Besides, I think we've all "borrowed" colors and full palettes at one point or another.

Annette Marie, you are making me smile like crazy. I feel my cheeks hurting and blushing a little. So far, this challenge has been a serious learning experience for me using PS. I keep playing around with it, experimenting, more and more while doing each step. So, for that, I thank you greatly for prodding me to use a program I've barely touched! smiley

Becky,
Love your palette & your names for them! smiley
Just a couple of thoughts about kit names:
1. Awesome Autumn (because your palette is Awesome! and so are the possibilities for it).
2. Fall Flare (because you have fall colors here but also some 'fire' colors in the aster, pumpkin & old barn).
Gayle

Lots of hugs & love.
Prayers for your & your husband's difficult journey to be full of unexpected blessings in these hardships.

Hi Annette
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question, but here I go.
If I take a photo of something, e.g my leather jacket and extract it from the photo and use it in my kit, is it allowed?
Thanks

Thank you, Gayle.
I appreciate your heart.

Of course you can, Gail! Many people, including myself, use extracted items.

A lot of people extract from their own photos, and photos from sites like Pixabay

The only caution is to not leave a brand label or stitching showing as brands are copyrighted.

Hugs Lisel! smiley

Thank you, Rachel!

Hi Annette, Finally getting around to posting here. Hope I do this right as this is my first attempt at posting here and also creating anything of my own in Photoshop. So thank you. I have a GIANT Creative Cloud for Dummies book, that goes over all my PS applications, but it always seems to be so overwelming. that I have begun reading it a few times, but never get very far. This was the motivation and instructions I needed. Thanks Again. Anyways, here is my palette. Hope it posts right.

Looks like it didn't post image. I added URL from Amazon photos. I resized to 700x525, but it is not displaying. Any idea why?

Hello, Dawn! Amazon Photos doesn't offer direct links to use on forums. You'll have to use an image hosting site that offers that feature. A few of us use Imgur, which is totally free.

Thank you Christina. I'll try Imgur. I thought I had heard they were having some security issues. Have you heard that or had any issues?

So here's my first palette.

Ooooooooh, I like your palette, Dawn. And I adore that you gave them fun names! smiley "Tincture of Grinch" delights me to the tips of my toes. The color and the name!

I have been using Imgur for years without any problems. I don't know that it is a secure site or any more secure than others of a similar nature, but since I just use it for scrapbooking previews and such, and don't have to give them a credit card to use the site, I am satisfied that it is safe enough for what I use it for. I do keep my images "hidden." It's an option when you upload anything to the site. Otherwise, your images are public, and since that isn't necessary to use the site, I have just chosen for my things to not be public but that would be up to you and what you are comfortable with. Hope that helps, Dawn.

I agree with Annette...great palette! Do you have a theme figured out yet?

Thanks Annette and Christina. I don't have an exact theme, but definetly something Christmassy. Because I'm new to this and don't have a lot to show, I'll probably just consider this like an add-on or X-tras kit. I have completed days up to the Bingo card and will try to post a couple a day. Any suggestions for improvement is greatly appreciated.

Oh my goodness, Dawn, I LOVE this palette!
Do you mind if I steal it for another kit I'm making?

The colors certainly work for a Christmas kit! As for suggestions on improvement... I'd say what you did with the striped paper is interesting and experimenting with settings and what not is a great way to learn. That's how I taught myself to use Paintshop Pro way back in the day long before I discovered digital scrapbooking.

Back then I was making a lot of what were called tags, animated gifs (especially sparkly glitter ones), desktop backgrounds, and full-on Myspace homepage themes (with all the coding!), many of which were animated gifs of movie/tv scenes all done in Paintshop Pro with its old Jasc Animation extra program, as well as a video decoder.

My point is: Experimentation is a good thing. Of course tutorials are also a huge plus, but I've always found it useful to simply play around on my own to discover how things work and what I can use them for.

Lisel, Please feel free to use it. I also wanted to say you and your husband are in my prayers. 16 years ago, I went through a very similar situation where my husband was diagnosed with bile duct cancer. Our son was 2 months old with Down Syndrome, Autism, a G-Tube for feeding, and a machine for breathing treatments 3xs a day. We were told that my husbands Cancer had at the very best, a 7% chance of surviving 3 years the most and that we should go home and get our affairs in order. So instead, we made some phone calls, packed up our little guy and equipment and hopped a train to New York to Sloan Kettering Hospital for a consult. They pretty much told us the same thing there based on local hospitals tests. They then performed their own tests and 4 months later he had tumor removed. He underwent a year and a half of pretty intense Chemo, but he is still here today. My point is, miracles can happen. Also, if you feel you need to talk to someone, reach out to whomever you are comfortable talking to. I don't know how I would have made it through without the tremendous amount of support I had, including support from the hospital. It sounds like you have a wonderful amount of support, but should you ever find youself looking to talk to someone else who has been through a similar situation, I'm a pretty good listener, and would be happy to help any way I can. Praying for your husbands health and strength for you to stay strong.

Thanks Christina. I do enjoy just 'playing around' with PS. If I like what happens, great. If not, well, there is always the 'undo' button.

Dawn, thank you for sharing your story, I appreciate it more than you know.
Your prayers are greatly coveted, and I'm so thankful for the support I have around me, including Digital Scrapbook.
This outlet is so great for me, I crave the time I have here.
