Thank you Lisel and Christina!

Chitra, the shofar and the pomegranate are both symbols of the holiday. The shofar is blown on the holiday and the pomegranate has to do with the number of seeds being the number of commandments or mitzvot. Apples are dipped in honey for a sweet new year. Here is some more information about the holiday if you'd like!

That said to specifically answer your question, there's no significance to pairing them together. They're just two of the holiday symbols. smiley

Thank you for clearing that up, Jill! smiley

Here is a preview of some of my pattern papers I have come up with so far.

Looking good, Gail! I still haven't figured out how to make patterns in PS. PSP has an easy way to do it: Image Effects > Seamless Tiling. Under that, there are several options to choose from regarding tiling method, direction, horizontal and vertical offset, transition, and corner style.

PS has a very easy method:
Open a 12 x 12. Go to View, then Pattern preview.
Place your design and the you can see what it will look like.
Once happy with your design, go to edit, define pattern.
To test your pattern, open up a 12 x 12 (this is what I use)
Add a pattern adjustment layer, select your pattern. You can the play with size, angle etc.
I hope you can understand this.

Thanks, Gail! I'll give it a try today. I need some more papers for the December blog train.

Pleasure

For my repeating patterns, I started with basic dots and used clipping mask with my striped papers from day 3.
The second paper uses an ornament from ps_commons_myriam-morand_264816_ball-christmas-2020-1-3_pu.
the 4th paper uses a snowflake by SheilaReid_IC_DR_DR_snowflakeshape(17), Reindeer is by DigiDewi_Winter Wonderland Christmas-Deer-Glitter which I added eyes and nose to.Paper 6 Christmas Coffee 05 Design Bundles sublimation bundle created by SVG Story. Paper 7 cluster from ps_commons_dawn-prater_228373_christmas-magic-cluster-1_pu

I have a question about crediting. pu is for personal use correct? If so can it be posted for someone else's personal use as long as there is no charge for graphic and designer is credited?
Also I am using Imgur to post. Images are private, but is there a way to credit on there?

Lovely collection of repeating prints, Dawn! Love your striped polka-dots. You just can't go wrong with DOTS, I say! smiley

PU does stand for "personal use." And it is only for your personal use. You cannot use it to make things and then re-share them, even if you are sharing them for free. It has to be a commercial use item to be used in that manner. I know it is confusing and it is frustrating that many of the items shared in the Commons, would surely be CU items if the designers were given that option, but PU is the only option available to share items under in the Commons. You might be able to contact the designer and check if CU is available for an item in the Commons, but that would be a special case that would need to be decided between you and the designer.

Here is the section dealing with PU and CU from the site's Help Section. (Click for a larger version, if needed.)

If you click on an image posted to Imgur, there is an option to "view and edit post." If you click on that link, you get a place to title your image and to add a description. That description box would be the only place I know of that you could use to include a credit, but since your images are private/hidden, I think you might be the only person who would ever see it.

Thank you Annette, still a little confused about sharing. So the gingerbread cluster on the paper above was created by Dawn Prater here in DS. The License says feel free to display your crafts and projects. So if I was able to display 'my project' in commons, that paper could be posted for personal use correct? And if so, then someone else could also download and use it for personal use right?

You can display your project . . . like if you make a scrapbook page using that paper, you can show it off in a gallery post. And sharing your repeating patterns here, so others can see what you made, is fine, but you can't share items you've made with PU items in the Commons for others to download and use. You need to create the item from scratch or use CU items when creating items to share there.

You could contact Dawn Prater and ask her if you can use the design she shared in the Commons in a commercial-use manner, but I would suspect that it is not possible. It is probably a CU resource that she has bought/collected and is only allowed to offer as a PU item to others. I could be wrong though. There are items you can buy/find that are CU4CU. Commercial use for Commercial use.

Oh ok. Much clearer now. Thank you.
