Day 21 Challenge: The challenge is to create a Word Cloud for your kit (paper or element) using your favorite software, or one of the online cloud generators. You could also find a CU Word Cloud and modify it to match your kit. I know Creativefabrica.com has some available and I am sure some of the other usual places do, too. (If word clouds aren't your thing, feel free to make some word art for your kit today or skip this prompt.)

Thanks for the great scraptorial and the links smiley

Not Christmas-y...but real desert words.

For both I used Creative Fabrica. On the second I downloaded SVG instead of PNG and resized in Inkscape....so no blurry or jaggy edges.

And a word paper I designed...both kits on one preview:

This is what I used to fill the paper:

Thanks for word block:

Thanks for the tut. Did it on my own. Will try the linked sites later. Here is one done with creativefabrica. I did a star shape as well.

Thank you for the generator links, Annette! I used the one from Creative Fabrica. At first, I was going to try free hand, but I quickly realized it would take a very, very long time, so I went to CF to "cheat". lol

You are very welcome, Tricia. I am glad you tried the generator at CreativeFabrica.com. Your word clouds turned out AWESOME! Love how you added the kit colors to your word cloud and of course, I love the additional texture. COOL WORDS! Especially enjoyed reading through the desert ones. That is really fun. So much to see! I think both of those will be neat additions to your already fabulous kits!

Gail, your motorcycle-themed word cloud looks GREAT! Love the colored background and texture you added to make it match your kit. You came up with a really fun collection of words that deal with the culture of biking. And I am glad you took the plunge and made it yourself. I had fun doing my own in PS. It was a little time-consuming, but the control freak that lives inside of me, loved picking the sizes and placement of each word. Yes, do try the generators out when you have time to play. I spent a pleasant couple of hours plugging words in, adjusting the options and hitting the "do it again" button to see what the different sites would make for me. Sometimes it is nice just to take some time to explore and play. I think your word art will make a really nice addition to your already fantastic kit!

You are welcome, Christina. I am glad you tried the generator from CreativeFabrica.com out and got such a lovely result. Love the colors you chose for it and the texture is really fun. That will make a nifty addition to your already wonderful kit. Love the Spring-y words you came up with to match your theme. Really fun.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with cheating whenever possible. smiley This designing stuff is time-consuming and the more "cheats" you can find to use, the more stuff you can create! Doing it from scratch in PS was labor-intensive and I can't say the results are any more interesting than what the generators can create almost instantly, but I did enjoy the process . . . cause I am a professional dawdler! LOL

I honestly didn't know about the cloud generator on CF. I have a subscription, but I've never looked at the Tools section before. That will definitely come in handy!

Oh yeah...you need to find ways to cheat! Templates and overlays are definite must-haves. I do enjoy creating stuff from scratch, though, and save them as templates if they're worthy. Sometimes the process is more fun than seeing the finished item.

Oh my goodness, that was fun!

I used the generator at Creative Fabrica, and used the cookie font.

I like that font you chose, Lisel. All of the words are right on target. I want hot cocoa and cookies now! lol I'm going to try one of my own fonts next time I use that generator. Limited selection on there, but it's definitely a very useful tool that saves a mass amount of time.

Love all these papers. So many different ideas

I am so happy to hear you had fun with this, Lisel. That generator at CreativeFabrica is awesome, and I love the font you chose to use. Great words on both of your clouds, too. The additional background textures and that argyle print are such fun details. Your paper is almost too pretty to even think about putting pictures on and covering some of it up. Great word clouds for your kit, m'dear! So glad you found time to play and shared your wonderful results with us.

Love the new picture of you and your dear husband! smiley

Christina, so glad you now know about another nifty perk of your subscription to CreativeFabrica. I kinda knew the generator was there, but hadn't actually tried it out until I was thinking about this challenge. Gotta try using some of my own fonts in the future. That will be super fun to play around with.

I am so process-driven when it comes to designing, that I sometimes almost forget to save the results before I am on to the next process. smiley When I am doing the Scraptorials, it is good for me to have to slow down and think about the steps instead of just poking more buttons and making something else. The Scraptorials have just finally opened my eyes to how handy making templates from my results can be and figuring out how to "cheat" a bit to speed things up. I now definitely realize that I don't need to create every single thing from scratch every single time. (You sure can tell I am not doing this for any sort of profit or that would have been a priority all along.)

Gail, your additional word clouds turned out great. I LOVE that star-shaped one especially. Really awesome! Gotta try that, too next time I play with word clouds.

A word cloud as a repeating pattern! What an excellent idea and I love all the little stars and trees mixed in with the words for decoration. Another excellent idea! You are so very clever, Tricia! And your new paper is really fun! Love it in both color-schemes.

Annette: I've seen other designers create papers of word clouds. I always thought it looked really cool and interesting. So, yeah...I'm super happy you introduced me to CF's generator! smiley The SVG file is the way to go. At first I had tried with a png, thinking I could flood fill a 12 X 12 image with it, but that didn't come out right--I could see the space in between, that it wasn't a true pattern.

When you create something that you will most likely use in the future over and over again, turning it into a template is the best route. I was making papers last night for the November Free Color challenge. I have a gazillion graphics from years ago, back before I began scrapbooking (Many from purchased CDs of clipart, deco thingies, damask, totally random, etc. that I can make patterns of. It's funny, all those CD companies no longer exist. That's how long ago I purchased them--late 1990s-early 2000s). Ended up creating a new 3-layer damask and a 5-layer diamond pattern. The latter will probably be my next CU freebie: a few diamond patterns. Taking the time, poking around, and exploring how something looks is relaxing to me.

Gail: That star is super cool-looking! Great word choices on all three! I can't wait to use your kit. I need to get my daughter-in-law to send me some pictures of her on her motorcycle, as I only have pics of when it was delivered because I was at their house that day.

Christina, thanks for the compliment. I am busy sorting out my papers and will start loading them into the commons as my application has been accepted.

smiley hooray! I am glad you joined commons. 🥳

Oh, that's great! Glad you're going to uploading to the commons. I'm excited for you!

Loaded my first element in the commons. Please let me know if I did it correctly, Thanks

Can't wait to see all your awesome creations being shared in the Commons, Gail!

Looks perfect, Gail! Good job!

Thanks. This is a bit nerve racking.

There is a lot to adsorb when you first are starting out at the Commons, but once you've uploaded a few things, it gets much, much easier. And there is an "edit" button in the tabs above each item you share there. You can always go in and add or change things. I use that "edit" button a lot. smiley You can always ask for help at the Commons forum or shoot me a site mail if I can help you with anything. Just remember that everyone was new there once and no one will get too excited if something goes a little bit sideways. YOU GOT THIS! smiley

Word cloud created in Creative Fabrica's Shape Cloud:

CF Options used...
FONT: Libre Baskerville
COLOUR SCHEME: Circus III
SHAPE: Wedding - Gift

You can upload your own shapes in SVG format, and your own fonts [.ttf or .otf], but it's a shame you can't select your own custom colours.

Wordclouds.com

Lots of lots of font choices, lots of shape choices, and you can choose your own colours by hex code

Such fun designs! I will have to try more smiley

Tricia, I personally prefer the Creative Fabrica one; the only drawback there is that you can’t choose your own colours to match your kit. I guess I would I open that in PSE, split into layers for each colour, then recolour each layer. A bit of a pain…

Love your designs Robyn.

Thanks Annette, If you and the other Ladies see something I can change or improve on please let me know. Any comments, criticism or advice will be highly appreciated. It is the only way I will learn and improve, Thanks for all the advice and help so far.
