How do you save your pages?

I use Photoshop CC and feel that my pages are not as crisp. What steps do you use for a good crisp layout?

Make sure your pages are 300 dpi! Save as psd or tif so you can change things if needed.
I save a finished page as jgp at maximum quality (12)

i do the same thing as Patricia

Hello Jennifer: Same here I save as a layered file and as a hi-res jpg, but I think you mean if anyone tweaks their pages after jpg-ing them..... One option is running the jpg's thru auto fix and auto sharpen in PS and boost the light starting at 15% and see what this does to the jpgs. smiley

Hi Bina,
thank u for the tips but where are these buttons in PS? & how to boost the light?

One option is running the jpg's thru auto fix and auto sharpen in PS and boost the light starting at 15%

smiley Chitra> did you switch to PSE after all, no more PP?

to run jpg thru autofix click as follows>

select your jpg then

in the top menu, click ENHANCE, click AUTO SMART FIX

to run jpg thru autosharpen>
In the top menu, click ENHANCE, click AUTO SHARPEN

to boost light by 15%>
again go to ENHANCE in the top menu , click adjust lighting, click brightness and contrast and boost brightness by 15% to start with, check the other adjust lighting options just to see what they do to your particular jpg
smiley

Hehehe...! Thank you, Bina!
No, I haven't fully switched over...don't think I ever will...but I use PS CC, for certain things, not PSE,...so..., any idea of how its done in PS?

Chitra> what things are these_ you got me nosey now
oh and yeah, try clicking image in PS and hit the auto options there

Here is an example, maybe not a good one since the jpg was well levelled to start out with ( did not find any under- or over-exposed photos on my HD, lol) but the difference is quite visible in the lows and the highlights, esp for lower res pics. See fullsized image here

Thanks, Bina...will try! BTW, what are you nosy about?

smiley but I use PS CC, for certain things,
about the certain things...

Oh, OK....extraction, using templates, photo masks, recolouring, opacity, increasing or decreasing size, cutting out or erasing certain parts of an element I don't want to use...& such small things...nothing major like you guys... smiley !!!

Thanks for the tip Bina.

I use a free action by MCP Actions that resizes and sharpens. The action does it for Facebook, which is 960px per edge, so then I just resize it to 600x600 for galleries. CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+S brings up a save for web action in Photoshop where you can then save it at the size galleries need (usually under 250Kb).

Here's a link to the free action (I'm not affiliated with them in any way):
