How to make a cohesive album?

Hi there!

I've been doing digital scrapbooking for some years now. I make layouts of events and bundle them in a year album. So far so good.
But now I've promised my friends to make an album about there honeymoon in Greece and I want to make a cohesive album in stead of an album with al different designs. I've never done this before.

Can somebody give me some tips and inspiration?

Thanks!

I would use a kit and only use elements from that kit or look similar.

Depending on how many pages you have in the album ... I would use 3 pattern papers along with the solids ... that way you see the same design more than once. I'd also use the same elements on more than one page. Papers can be just bits and shapes on one page and a used for a background on another page etc. Think about a package of notepaper with envelopes and cards etc that all go together with the same designs used in different ways

i would definitely use just one kit. I did something similar for an album of my son's 1st year. I actually used a mini kit and I think it came our nice, but I like to go heavy on the photos and light on the elements. It was a fun challenge to see how many different ways I could use the same elements and papers. Good luck!

If you want a cohesive work, it's probably best to use the same kit. Look for something large, or possibly you can combine a couple. I have all my "books" here if you'd like to browse.

Thanks for the tips!! smiley

And thank you for the link Marisa! I was looking for albums on the internet (to get some inspiration) but could only find separate layouts. I will certainly go check out your albums smiley

Marisa, those books are wonderful! The Egypt book is a model for cohesion, and the images and layout were stunning. I also loved the casual approach and design for the Travel Year in Review. I was laughing out loud at some of the observations. Very inspiring.
