Papers Seamless Tiling- Different , elements or design items

Hi everyone have a question on seamless paper tiling .. I have watched Marisa videos on making papers & seamless papers , ( They are wonderful and helpful )

I know how to do tiling for one or two elements. But I need extra help to do 4-5 different ones or a design .

My niece is having her first baby and I need to tile different ones at least 4 laying in different postilions .. having a rough time lining up rotating . without the seam showing or looking out of whack ... .

I do so much better watching video all I could find with video was tiling 1 or 2 elements or flatten the designs and not tile .. Is there a secret I must not know about to get it right thank you for any help .

Hello Bev,

Now I don't know if there's an easier way to do this or if this is even the easiest way to tile a lot of elements, but here's how I'm doing it so far. This works in Photoshop, which I noticed you used.

1. Make a normal two element pattern, or use one you already have.
2. Make a new project twice the size of your pattern.
3. Fill your project with the pattern. You should have a grid consisting of anywhere between four to eight different circles/elements.
4. Replace these circles with elements of your choosing. Don't forget to use the offset option for the corner circles, because the 1/4 circles are kinda tricky otherwise.

Pattern without offset. Used a hearts pattern because my polka dot pattern is missing

Pattern after offset, just checking if everything fits and to be able to replace the images.

After years of trying, I could never really get the offset to work for me in Photoshop. I did a bunch of hacks to make my patterns. I go over most of these in the section called "Making Patterns and Papers in Photoshop."

Then I found that it's one million times easier to make a pattern in Illustrator. You can see me do it here.
