Strategy to get through NYC trip!

Hey scrappy folks!
OK Girls trip to NYC and I have sooo many beautiful landscape shots. soooo many. My style tends to be more about journaling with good pictures and a little bit of art. And tehn the occasional amazing landscape makes its way in. But this one I feel like I could do half the book in landscape shots, but I also don't want to. So any ideas? Links to layouts to share? There were 3 of us that went and between us we had 2200 pics from a 5 day trip. EEks! I have them all sorted and tagged. I haven't dwindled them down yet but I am guessing I'll be doing a 65-75 page book.

Thanks for ideas and inspirations!

I guess blocks and more blocks will work well on your case. I use several sizes of blocks with pictures and texts: Sometimes I arrange two or three pictures in a very large display, others I use pocket-cards like templates... And I mix sizes and styles on the opposite pages, so they tell a story without being to busy, if I can. You can maybe check my gallery? But there are people who do this better than I, for sure!

I usually wait awhile before I make a book about a specific trip or event. With time you can more easily pick out which are the photos you really want to use. More photos is rarely better I've found. I'm usually happier if I wait and can come at it with a more critical eye. I've been waiting to make a book for my baby because I know if I wait I'll end up able to better choose the photos and they'll have more of an impact if there are fewer.

Great advice, thanks ladies!

I love graphics, scrapbook pages and photos. What I do is.. I made a scrapbook page 12 x 12 to make my design, with graphics, Title and fonts and a photo or 2 however you want to design it and on the other side of the scrapbook page I put a page that holds (6) 4 x 6 photos (& of course the other side of that page holds (6) photos. You can divide your NY Scrapbook into sections or specific areas of the trip and make a main scrapbook page for that area or section and then put the original photos to the side of it. You can use the pockets for just the photos or add a journal card or cute graphic. It really turns out nice and this way you're able to use your photos and not use too many pages. I hope you can understand my explanation. I always try to make a story with my trips and also use info and history to go with it. I always put an itinerary page somewhere in the book...in the front or back.... put the date & the places I went on that specific day....put your airline ticket, tickets....gas receipts or programs or subway map or dinner receipt in the book, hotel bills etc ...later on you'll look back & see the dates and prices which will be fun. If some special event has happened and the news is in the paper...put that the scrapbook too. I'm not much into gambling but when I went to Florida I noticed that their lottery tickets were different and more colorful than California (at that time) so I bought a ticket and put it into the book...it really would have been nice if I had won something....but for $1 it was fun & I look back at it now & smile. These are just some of the things I do....I hope I have given you some ideas.

I really love this idea. thank you!
