OR.....you click your brush ONCE in say the top left corner WHILE holding the shift key, release the mouse button, THEN you move your brush to the er right hand corner, press shift and click...and voila....a line of the brush shape...you can also change the distance and many other features from the brush options men. there is one for scatter as well.
