What, no Comic Sans?!?! >:D

Oh man. There is no way to convey what Comic Sans does to my stomach when I see it. *insert barf smilie here.

You made me laugh now smiley

I've recently used "Gushing Meadows" a few times. It's great if you need a font for a rainy page or spilled liquid or halloween (dripping blood.)

How do you pick just one?! I always freeze when it comes to picking fonts for pages, and usually spend twice as much time trying to figure out which one to use!

arsenal white, I used it in my blog header awhile back
Blackjack is one I tend to use more than less
smitten kitten is a good one too

My favorite is: Throw my Hands up in the air
The title makes me smile and it's a great journaling font.

I actually have quite a few Kimberly Geswein (http://www.kimberlygeswein.com/) fonts. Her seven sixteen is cute too.

For Project Life type layouts I like to use Pacifico for the title. It's bold and readable.

And her commercial use license is only $5 (I believe) for those who need it.

Oh, I forgot to mention! For those that have a bunch of fonts installed, have you used WordMark? It's a script that reads the fonts on your computer. I'm visual and love to glace at the fonts looking for the right one quickly. You can change 'wordmark' at the top to whatever you want to see. And you can change the size. It's so much faster than trying to check each one in PSE.

I'm a horrible font-hoarder... my favorite at the moment are typewriter fonts, my absolute favorite? Bohemian typewriter, which also has the European characters (as the darn "ü" ;D). But I own about a million fonts, I guess...

That's a cool way to see all the fonts!

I was sooo gonna write that my favorite is Comic Sans...hahahah!! NOT....but that's funny:)

I'm not even done with all the posts and I have about 25 new tabs open at the top of my screen. LOL

I'm looking for a good handwriting font for journaling and I haven't found one I like yet....I'll have to check out some of these favs! Thanks!

Sometimes I feel sorry for Comic Sans.

Thanks for sharing you tips Cat! Super! I love Monotypes Corsiva, Jane Austin and Bradley Hand. On thing that´s troublesome for me is that many fonts don´t do the letters å,ä and ö which are quite frequent in the Swedish language. I don´t feel comfortable in using English for all my scrapworks, especially not birthdaycards for kids etc.

oh man, this is a hard and i can't decide question, i have many favorite fonts, but one that i really love is this one: Lobster smiley

Lol. It's soooo picked on.

Do you have any idea how many new fonts I just downloaded? LOL

I love fonts and freaked out when I realized I had to install fonts because I cannot use a Font Viewer with Windows7 (64 bit)

I have a few "go-to fonts"
I love the hearts in this font Magical Marilyn
And a good "normal looking handwriting" font A Safe Place to Fall
And for cute and sweet I love Yummy Cupcakes

Be careful with that download button.... YES YOU. I see you rushing off to download yummy new fonts.
Some of these are not approved for commercial use so be aware.

I think my favorite right now, although I don't use it much is .. Peach Sundress it's so gorgeous!

You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I like Papyrus, Comic sans too, reminds me of the Choose your own adventure books. I mean, better than TNR or Arial, or even Impact.

There are so many fonts I like, I always like the Fancy & Calligraphy ones smiley

My all time favorite "fun" font is (and has been for a very many years) Jester! After that I love pretty much all of Kimberly Geswein fonts!

Jester was a nice one - thank you for that Janet!

Oh my goodness, I should have stayed out of this thread when I read the word 'font'.
Hello, my name is Antoinette and I'm a fontaholic. Guess there is no cure!

What I read about Windows7 scares me! I use AMP font viewer to check my downloaded fonts and open the one I want to use it in PSP. But now I learn that that isn't possible in Windows 7?? *sob*

I can't possibly choose a favourite. I like swirly fonts, handwriting fonts, typewriter fonts... you name it, I love it - lol

But to name a few of my favs: Riesling, I love Cocktail Shaker because of the awesome z, Fabulous 50s, Sloop Script three and many many more smiley

I like Papyrus! I know, I know...

I use NexusFont, and have no problems with opening that program to "load" my fonts so I can use them in other programs, and I have Win7. I used to use AmpFontViewer, but it always seemed to crash on me, so I use Nexus now. Even if you don't use a font viewer program, you can still "open" your fonts before you open a program and that fonts should be available for you to use in that program.

I recently found Lavanderia, which is a nice script font.

Nice tips Antoinette!

Our IT guy at work says that the newer computers won't have an issue with having all the fonts loaded... and he let me load about 800 fonts on my computer in my office when I was whining about not being able to just open a font on my task bar and use it. I have not seen any instability in my PC at all so I'm guessing he's right about it being okay. His reasoning was that the newer computers have so much more memory than the ones that we had before that the fonts don't put any drain on them.

I have an unfortunate love of really hard to read fonts. The more it looks like Thomas Jefferson wrote it, the better.
That being said, I just turned my handwriting into a font and was pleased with the results!

My husband and I are addicts of a YouTube channel called VSauce. They did a video called "A Defense of Comic Sans" which I think is pretty great. smiley

Here's the link: I hope this works... otherwise, just Google "vsause comic sans" and it'll pop up at the top of your search. Awesome stuff. smiley

And, yeah, I think comic sans gets picked on too much, when it's not being used in poor taste. smiley

Loved the Defense of Comic Sans, thanks for sharing!
