Gamers?

I'm not really a gamer or LARPer but I do love to watch. We go to several Renaissance Fairs every year and I love to see all the people dressed up. We also go to the local comic con. Love the cosplay there as well as watching it on tv. I don't dress up because most of it looks so uncomfortable and I'm a bit, ok a lot , picky about how clothes feel. Comfort is everything.

Yes.
Currently playing Guild Wars 2 and some random Steam games from the large library I've acquired over the years. Fiance's current addiction is Warframe.

I started playing tabletop RPGs around 25 years ago, and have played most of the major systems. There's a local White Wolf LARP that I'm hoping to get back to attending soon. I have around a dozen non-CCGs like Munchkin and Gloom and Management Material on the shelf, along with Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity (it's like a twisted version of Apples to Apples). Lots of PC gaming as well, but I don't own a console. Fiance has a couple of them, as does my son (who's halfway across the country).

My fiance and I do an online family game night with my son sometimes: a Skype group video call plus all three of us in a multiplayer game like Burnout Paradise or Minecraft. It certainly helps to shrink the thousands of miles apart. smiley

I used to play a lot of games but don't anymore, just lost interest in them all.

I Larp'd when I was younger as well as RPG'd old school style lol with a table full of people, ratty old notebooks, and dice! I love video games though and play quite often. My daughter just landed a spot at the local Ren Faire where she lives. The photos were pretty funny since she is 5' tall and looked quite adorable in her armour lol

Oh gosh, I get way too tense/nervous for typical gamer kind of games. But I enjoy a quick game of freecell (solitaire) on my tablet.

I can't really call myself a gamer, I don't think... I'm the kind of person who will yell at the game and feel like throwing my controller or mouse, haha. I get frustrated WAY too easily. But with that being said, I really enjoy MMOs and multiplayer games on Steam. I play World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and any of the Lego games (currently working on the Lord of the Rings trilogy). I also have a Nintendo 3DS on which I play things like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Pokemon, etc.

Sometimes I feel like I'm too old to be gaming, but you know what, it's something I enjoy, and that shouldn't have an age limit. My mom enjoyed gaming up into her 60s, after all!

Hi, 40-year-old gamer here, Mary...and I have friends in their 70s in Minneapolis who still game at least weekly. Don't worry about age, just about whether you enjoy them or not! smiley If you enjoy MMOs and multiplayer games, and 3DS games, I don't know anyone who'd try to say you're not a gamer!

I've been trying not to play games. I get lost in them terribly. I lost a whole year "playing" Second Life.

I'm not a big gamer, but I do enjoy some games. I used to LOVE backgammon and still have my original board that I received as a gift in my early 20's. And I've always liked card games. I come from a family of 6 kids and there was always lots of card games going on around our kitchen table. Mother and I used to sit at the table for hours, each with a deck of cards, playing solitaire to see who could win the most games in the space of a couple of hours. I have actually had dreams of a solitaire game laid out before me and two arm-less hands playing the cards... Now I play games on my tablet every night before going to bed until I get sleepy. I play Spades, Hearts, Solitaire, Scrabble, and Backgammon, and I like word games, too.

My husband requested his first LARP for his bachelor party! We actually did 2, and girls were permitted smiley Our GM made this awesome story with me as an arch-duchess and hubby as a king. The GM liked it so much he formed a group where we do a D&D style game once a month, in the same land as the original larp, but as different characters, about 70 years later. We're using the Fantasy Age game engine.

When I was a kid I loved video games too. My favorites were Tetris, Dr. Maro, and Chrono Trigger!

I only play Wizard 101. I like it because it's relatively easy and helps me wind down rather than being complex and annoying. I like to decorate the castles ans build things and just play around.

I am totaly into simming (since Sims 1.... now Sims 4, naturally). Mainly building houses, but with Sims4 also playing "normally". I like using it like a Big Brother-Thing, so only watching what the sims do, it is soooo funny (most of the times).
Second I really like to play are city building games like the new Cities : Skylines (after EA did such a fail with the new SimCity...). Also the Anno-series (but not very extensive anymore).
I am not able to play first shooters as I die at every corner smiley

I also like watching Let's Plays on Youtube, firstable it is fun, and second you learn a lot.

so funny to see all of you girls!

I'm a part time player. I Play MMORPG.
I begun with WOW in 2010, had a break, discovered the beautifull and free TERA in january but had a hard time in my life this year and stopped.... Even if I have a lack of time, I play here and there smiley I love the craft part in those games, the amazing landscapes and all the incredible characters! smiley

I shall say scrapbooking is a play too smiley

I am a gamer at heart, but I have to limit myself drastically or a game will take over my entire life. My most recent gaming addiction was an online game called Empire. The company that created it is located in Germany, but I believe they have versions in all of the major languages. Since I'm located in Italy, I played the Italian version. It's very addictive. You build castles and outposts and form alliances, and there are battles and even full-scale wars between alliances. I played for around 8 months straight, with only breaks for bathroom, eating, sleeping and grocery shopping. LOL! My husband wasn't too happy about that. The house became a terrible mess, although I did try to take the occasional break from the game to do some laundry or wash dishes. I was very involved in my alliance (you earn grades like sergeant, general, etc) and I got to know the other people in my alliance. Some of them I consider friends, to this day.

Anyway, I had to quit because it got to the point where I was just really addicted. I stayed away for 4 or 5 months, and I went back. My coalition gave me one of the castles that someone else had abandoned, and I played for a few months, off and on (just an hour a day). I got bored with it though, so I quit again and I don't plan to go back. (But you never know! LOL)

Back in the days of Super Nintendo, I was addicted to a game called The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. At the time, I had a very stressful job and I'd come home from work and kill monsters to relax. Thing is, I would re-name the monsters...they were the names of supervisors and co-workers who got on my nerves...and I'd go home and "kill" them. LOL! I found it was a good way to work out my anger in a way that didn't get me put into jail. Hahahahaha!!!!

My son has a Wii, and they have that same Zelda game in their store, in the Classics section. I bought it (plus a special controller to plug into the Wii) and I play it every once in a while...but I guess my reflexes are getting worse now that I'm older, and I can't seem to kill the final monster. Oh well. The "quest" part of the game is fun.

haha Marcy!
You're not the only one being addicted once (or twice..). I plan to play here and there when I'll have several monthes with a bit of time... because I miss it! smiley
That's why I'm saying digitalscrapbooking is a kind of game for me as each page is like a quest smiley

have a beautifull day everyone!

The worst thing is when my gaming and scrapbooking time cut into each other... smiley Sometimes it amazes me that I managed to find time for anything else in my life!

I've been fighting health issues again, though, and scrapbook design has been difficult--this time the bone spurs in my neck are making my hands jerk when I try to draw--so I've been hanging out on my friends' Minecraft server instead. At least I can still work a keyboard and mouse! smiley

I play mainly games from BIGFISHGAMES.COM
I just love all the adventure games from there..And my favorite is the SHADOW WOLF MYSTERY series..Also love Sims series games, mainly Sims 3 and 4..A member of MOD THE SIMS and TSR..As you can see, my profile picture is actually a child model of SIMS 4 made by me.. smiley

I used to be a HUGE gamer...I still turn on WoW every once in a while. I'm a member of a guild that has been together for 12 years at least. I have been with them for 3 years. I met them in Guild Wars 2 while on a WoW break. I get the problem with The Sims, I like to build houses over and over.

I've been without my gaming PC for 5 months so I'm itching for playing something again. I think the last thing I played was another walkthrough of Skyrim. I'm all about the PC though, the only console I have is a PS2 so I can play my beloved Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2.

I also host adult board game nights at my house. Settlers of Catan, Dominion, 7 Wonders, Alhambra, etc. and a glass of wine or a beer and we have an awesome night.

I am pretty uncoordinated with video games, but I do enjoy watching them, and Jordan has been playing a few more lately. I quite enjoyed "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" and now we're playing "Life is Strange" which I'm currently loving because it takes place on the Oregon coast!

I used to Larp a few times, years ago. While I loved watching the people around me larp, I was just to shy and felt highly uncomfortable to really join the story.
The game I play the most is 7 days to die, a zombie-survival game.

I play quite a few facebook games and also some xbox games with my other half, i tend to play the point and click games rather than the shootemups.

I do not think so ... Most games are aggressive, with shooting, conquests and I do not like violence. I love the creation, essential, amiable, kind, and friendly.

I just got over my addiction to fb farmville (scrap and scrap shopping sometimes now)

Younger, I loved ultima before it went birds eye view. We got a ibm , for atari wasn't gonna get new versions. (hubby still talks of how, i could go down in the dungeon and not light a torch to go to fountain to be healed, good mind then to memorize steps to move - now unknown what i did 2 min ago)

@Aleona, there are lots of games that aren't violent. Most of the point-and-click adventure genres (including hidden-object and puzzle games) aren't, and they don't require fast reflexes either. And then there are word games, match-3 games, time-management games, racing simulators, digital pinball games...and most of those don't involve having to kill anything.

I've also got some that don't fit into any of these categories neatly, such as "Brainpipe: A Plunge to Inhumanity" which is a trippy race down a tunnel to collect runes while dodging hazards along the way, "Bridge It" which is about building bridges that don't break (and a neat way to learn something about engineering while I'm at it), "Zen Bound 2" which is about wrapping a string around an object to cover the surface (trickier and more engaging than it sounds!), and "Audiosurf 2" which is a game that makes the track based on whatever song you select before you have to race down it collecting and dodging blocks while the song plays (maybe catching some air in the process). Links in this paragraph go to the games' Steam store pages, where there are screenshots and videos of them being played, in case you want to check them out.

Kerbal Space Program is another good one, though it will certainly feel like learning it is rocket science; that's because it actually is--NASA has helped them figure out the math for fuel burn rates and trajectories, and it can be a little unforgiving, but that's part of the learning process. There's also Minecraft; if you set the world to "Peaceful" you don't have to kill anything unless you need leather, and you can dig and grow and build to your heart's content.

I do have some really violent games as well, but those are a few of the ones I turn to when I'm in a mood for something peaceful, along with F1 2012, Cogs, Hexcells (like Minesweeper, but hexagons), and Fractal: Make Blooms Not War.

I'm a nintendo gal. I looooooooove The Legend of Zelda on gamecube but I love all types of games especially the ones that are quit simple but still have a great story and some action. My boyfriend got me a retro gaming portable console as an early christmas gift. 220 amazing games and it's totally great.

No larping here but would love to try it some day, during the summer me and my 13 yr old son have what we call epic game nights, we start playing about 2ish and don't stop until 2 or 3 in the morning

I love playing games, but my crafting takes priority. I get way to caught up and lose track of time. I am a Skyrim girl, My husband and I like to play Borderlands together. We also like board games of all kind (Smallworld, Arkham Horror, and the like... We just don't get much time to play with other people and our kids arent quite there yet.

I have 5 kids so I had to become some kind of a gamer. I was the second person in my house to be to level 60 in WOW (before they added more levels). I still do some gaming but am trying to do less but they still come out with new fun games to try lol.

Yes I am a gamer.
I have played the same MMORPG for the past 10 years.
I also enjoy video games, console games, online games, and a few mobile app games.
We have a Wii and a working Nintendo 64. I also play several games on FB, game websites & a few on my phone.

I game anything my husband asks. We have every console except the Wii U, and we have a well played pile of games, and the pile of shame where we have bought games and still haven't beat them haha. We are also HUGE board game nerds. Like an entire closet and then a large shelf in the garage full of games. My husband is also a big table top gamer, and just lost his game shop who had to close due to rent being raised too high smiley smiley Google Hangouts is a great idea for him to find a new group!! He has Warhammer, Lord of the Rings, X-wing, Armada, and now 2 Halo games in which I NEED him to play and get out of my hair haha.
