"Junk" Journaling

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, so I apologize if it's in the wrong place.

I have been considering junk journaling either using digital products either printing and making it hybrid or just a junk journal page in PhotoShop. A friend suggested I try it, but I'm struggling with where to begin. Do you include photos? Do you just create pretty pages? What size of journal is best? Would I be better trying it in a standard Traveler's Notebook? I have tried finding a YouTube video, but have only found ones that are flip throughs of finished notebooks and not really explaining the process.

Anyone here have a video, or blog tutorial on their process?

I wrote a post here about everything I know about junk journaling. Take a look and let me know what questions you have.

I do make mine usually in TN size, although I occasionally make a smaller one which I also enjoy. It really depends on what you're doing with it and what size you like. I like the TN size, I think it's big enough to include small photos, but not too big that I feel blank canvas fear. I started junk journaling because I wanted a special way to document my son when he was born. Having that sort of focus definitely helped me get going, so whether or not you choose to include photos, you may want to have some sort of idea of what you'll include. Personally I have a hard time working without photos.

Wow!! Those spreads are STUNNING! I think that is the style I'd like to go with, I have been eyeing the TN type of scrapbook pages and journals and I think that's what I'm in love with. I have done December Daily and enjoyed that process, so I think I'm going to love doing something like this too. Thank you for the beautiful resource! I'm now off to watch all of your videos and browse your Instagram feed!

There's also TONS of junk journal groups on Facebook. I'm amazed at the creativity, friendliness, willingness of the people to share tips, tricks, on how to do specific tasks. I have one started but haven't been focusing on it at all (there just aren't enough hours in a single day to get things done)!

Oh wow, so I didn't really know what it meant. Great blog post Marisa. Is it ok if I share it to a Facebook page I manage for a scrapbook shop? I think the client base would be really interested in that- and yours are seriously stunning!

Of course! Thank you smiley
