download icons not showing

Hi Everyone. I'm new to this group and wondering if anyone else has had trouble with their uploads just showing up as microsoft icon (generic mountain scene). They do open when I click on them, but I cannot just scroll through my downloads to find what I'm looking for. I must open each one seperately just to see what it is. I have tried changing view, and it is set on icons, not details. I have tried to enable thumbnails via the folder options by going to: file>options>view and made sure 'always show icons, never thumbnails' is unchecked. I even took it a step further and went into run dialog and checked performance settings through there. Show thumbnails instead of icons is checked. I tried to uncheck it, close out and go back in and recheck it and still the same. This is very frustrating. I have never seen this happen before. Any suggestions towards resolution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

HI Dawn, sorry for the trouble! Can you tell me what version of Windows you are using?

Does this happen for everything you download from our site, regardless of file type? (e.g. jpg, png, psd, etc.?)

What program do you use to open the downloaded graphics? And are you able to open and use them successfully even though they show the wrong icon in Windows Explorer?

I'm currently using windows 10 and thinking about upgrading to 11. Yes, this is only happening with items I download from your site and it happens to all file types. I initially just right clicked and used extract all to open zipped files. When they wouldn't show properly, I downloaded winzip. The icon is no longer the blue mountains, now they are just a folder. Then there are usually subfolders within that and then more subfolders within those. Eventually, they do open, but it's seems like a bit too much, just to look and see if there is something I want to use in that particular folder. I tried to create folders of my own such as paper, elements, etc. and manually move them to there once they are opened, but when I move them, they return to blue mountain icon.

Hm... that so strange.

Can you please send us an email at [email protected] so that we can better follow up with this? Please include a link to this forum post as well (https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/comment/756439) Thanks!
