'The Curio Pantry' is what I design under. If you are not familiar with my designs they are a bit eclectic, mostly elegant & vintage inspired designs with a little cuteness here and there. I dabble with hand drawing so at times you may see some of that worked into kits.

Journaling - Eleanor Margaret Green was born to James and Amy Hewitt Green. She was the granddaughter of Norvin Green, president of Western Union Telegraph company. Norvin owned our house from 1861-1893. When he suddenly died in 1893, the house went to his widow and then to his son, James Green, for a short time. Eleanor never knew her grandfather Norvin as she wasn't born until nearly 2 years later. She grew up and married the Prince Viggo of Denmark in June 1924. The Prince gave up his rights to the throne to marry her. Though by this time the Green family had lost all itβs connections to our house, I find it a fascinating little piece of history.
Tho hard to read the bits of paper scraps are actually the publisher's proof for the Baltimore Sun's running of these announcements. I scanned them along with the photographs that accompanied them - one which is in the lower right. The rest of the photos and painting were found online.

Such a fascinating piece of genealogical history and also of house ownership as well. A wonderful page.
It is so amazing that you of all people bought this property... love it!!!
Thank you Bina! Research...something I really love to do! At least when it comes to history. Just running across the name Norvin Green and then his son James Green and James' brother in law Erskine Hewitt in New York on our house deeds is what opened their world to me. :)
love, love, love this.... all of it and the entire background story. Wow so beautiful, Jessica, a perfect layout, love how it is so 'period' yet clean. Makes a great QP. How did you ever pick up on this?
Thank you Maude! :)
Absolutely beautiful page and an interesting story [about your house], too!
