About Me
I'm a 20-year volunteer with USGenWeb and USGenWeb Archives. Not a whole lot of need for graphic design! Mostly scanning public domain yearbooks and books, transcribing or OCRing the text, and making pages linking to the scanned photos of people who were part of the history of Pennsylvania counties.
When I worked, I was a university and public library reference librarian.
I love art and illustration and spend time most days reading old books and magazines on archive dot org and old newspapers on newspapers dot com. I've been saving and touching up public domain illustrations from those sources for years. As the old folks in my family would say facetiously, I "have about enough artistic talent to draw water," and that's it. But I enjoy making birthday images for friends on Facebook and cards for family, and I'm always grateful to websites that make free personal use graphics for non-artistic folks like me. There's a lot of lovely talent on this site and others similar, and I appreciate your skill and generosity.
