i thought ficus was supposed be a bulletproof choice for a house plant, but this fella seems to be struggling...
all designs by violet irisovna - featuring "die cut templates"
i'm a huge fan of using such files as simple mock stencils to create interesting background so this set is really a gem! popped some color underneath to replicate falling leaves and the pebbles are actually my extractions. another thing i love is twisting those shadows. i could probably tweak them for hours but even a quick pinch and pull with a wrap tool does the trick

Gorgeous, Paddy!
I just don't have the patience to warp shadows, except on really really special occasions. I wish I could send you my layouts for final shadow-tweaking! It could be a service you offered! (I imagine then you'd be sick of it, too.) It's funny, there are plenty of other fiddly parts of scrapping I'll spend ages on, but shadow warping always pushes the impatience button for me.
thanks, ladies! :)
@sandrine: ...or perhaps it will thrive in a new home! either way, i expect a detail report on its progress! :D
yup, pebbles were my craft project last summer when i started an indoor mini succulent garden... which quickly outgrew its tiny pots and had to be replanted outside, in the big garden :)
as for recreating this look, you can do it with your leaft hand, easy peasy! violets fabulous template does all the hard work for you ;)
Sad little tree, beautiful page! I love the extracted pebbles SO much, and the whole page has that gorgeous crisp Paddy style!
Cute!
great page
In my experience, ficus is THE one plant that I have trouble maintaining alive; I find it's very sensitive to air drafts or temperature change... mine is struggling hard at the moment, and I don't think it'll survive our move into our new home.
But, back to what matters most : your gorgeous page ! I love how you use die cuts and it's not the first time that one of your pages makes me wonder if I could pull this "paddy look" on one of mine :)
Did you paint the pebbles too ?
