About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

One of my most favourite subjects that I love to read about is Space!!
This week (on 12 July 2022), a new series of images made by the new James Webb Space Telescope were released to the public. One of them was the Carina Nebula. The James Webb Telescope is designed to see into the Infra-red Spectrum which allows us to see so much more details than the old Hubble Telescope.
The Hubble Telescope did a great job for 20+ years, but it was designed to mostly gather images just using the visible spectrum - what we can see with the naked eye. As a result, the Hubble telescope often took several days to photograph any specified area of space. The James Webb Telescope can photograph any specified area in 12 hours and get far more details.
This photo is of a small part of the Carina Nebula and it is just stunning!! Really. It is now my new Favorite!!!
There is only ONE quote that can go with this photo. The last words from the movie, Contact, based on Carl Sagan's novel of the same name. The book was made into a movie starring Jodie Foster, and released in 1997.
Quote - Jodie Foster - Contact Movie - 1997
The universe is a pretty big place.
It's bigger than anything
anyone has ever dreamed of before.
So if it's just us...
...it seems like an awful waste of space.

I am so excited about the Webb telescope too! I'm a huge space nerd and have been following the Journey of Webb throughout the whole manufacturing process. It's such a stunning image great idea to use it along with the quote!
My husband has been following the same James Webb images. The images coming out of this telescope are stunning and so pretty & so detailed too! And the empty space - well I personally believe that is because God is just not finished with his building project ;) Lovely page Robynne! The image you chose is a wonderful one to use. I love the sparkly looking stars - that is my favorite part of those photos. ♥ Thank you for sharing your page!
