New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

Bernadette Banner is a costume historian whose Youtube channel I disovered in early 2020. Bernadette makes a lot of her own clothes by hand, using traditional sewing methods as much as possible. I never knew just how much I was missing about the history of clothes and costumes.
Dark Academia is an aesthetic that revolves around classic literature, the pursuit of self discovery and a general passion for knowledge and learning. I love history!! I also love libraries with those rolling ladders!!
I have had these traits for a very long time and I have recently discovered that these traits actually have a collective name!!
Dark Academia!!
Common themes within this aesthetic include, libraries, schools, universities, reading classics and poetry, and going to coffee shops.
Well, I have loved reading school stories since I was a teenager - and that was 40 years ago!! I have also loved reading books about history and books about books for those same 40 years, so this aesthetic fits me pretty much perfectly.
Just one little thing - I don't drink coffee - so I never go to coffee shops!!
So this is my first attempt at a Dark Academia Layout.
I do plan to make more!!
