About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

I have found only 1 relative who fought at the Battle of Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. His name was Thomas (Tom) Adams Stephens. He was lucky enough to survive that battle, with nothing more than a bullet in his shoulder.
Tom was sent to Egypt for surgery and recovery whereupon it was reported that he died of Enteric (Whatever that is!!). But this was a false report. Upon discharge from hospital in Egypt, Tom was then sent to Europe where he was fighting in France and Belgium. He later caught Pneumonia and died in England in July 1917.
I do not have any pictures of Tom Stephens, so I am using a colourised photo of my paternal grandfather and 2 of his brothers as a subsitute. They were also in Europe during this war, but they were never at Gallipoli. Tom Stephens was the brother of my maternal great grandfather.

I would guess "enteric" is like "dysentery" -- basically intestinal infection (that likely would have killed people due to dehydration).
This is a great layout, and an important memorial. Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely amazing, Robynne, many thanks for sharing this story here with us!!! Great layout.
