About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
Leonardo Da Vinci was obsessed with flight and with flying. He was desperate to fly and to know what it feels like. He drew hundreds of images of birds wings in the hopes of being able to design a wing that would allow him to fly. There is nothing in the records or his notebooks that says he actually built anything life size, but he may have created models.
His drawings certainly did him justice. He definitely had the right idea. One of his drawings is pretty close to a modern day hang glider.
One of my most favourite Star Trek Voyager TV episodes was called - Concerning Flight. It aired in November 1997 during the 4th season. It was about Captain Janeway and the Maestro himself, Leonardo Da Vinci (Played by John Rhys-Davies) using a home made hang glider (of sorts) to get away from the local Prince who wanted that technology for himself.
There is also a quote attributed to Leonardo, that implies that Leonardo actually flew. This quote is NOT a Leonardo Quote. Leonardo Never Flew. So anytime you see this quote - For once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return - Just remember that Leonardo never flew and thus he does not know how it feels. This quote was used for a 1965 TV Documentary on LDV in Italy. It was spoken by the narrator who has obviously flown before. (See link below)
