About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

I am not a fan of poetry - mostly because they supposed to express an emotion and I just cannot pick up on the emotion. But I am very picky about what kind of poetry I do like to read. So I have been racking my brains These last few hours, to figure out how I came to be so particular about what kind of poems I prefer and why I prefer them, and I think I have finally have found the answer.
Those poems that I do like, must be of the rhyming kind. They must rhyme and they must tell a story. I think I learned this by reading A wonderful books when I was a child. This was called - A Childs Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. I remember reading this book, and these poems, over and over again, when I was a child. My favourite poem from that book was the Pirate Story.
Since very few adults also write poems in rhyme, one of the very few adult poets that I like to read is Banjo Patterson (from Australia) who wrote the original epic poem - The Man from Snowy River - which was made into a wonderful movie back in the 1980s.
The Xmas Carol - Good King Wenceslas - is my all time favourite carol. Why? Because it rhymes and it tells a story!!
