About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

In the year 2019, a study was completed which stated that Leonardo Da Vinci may have had ADHD. Despite now being over 500 years later, we do know that Leonardo seems to have had quite a number of the symptoms of ADHD. We don't know if he was ever hyperactive, although with the amount of time he spent outdoors, as a child, that could possibly have been true.
We do know, thanks to Vasari's biography, that Leonardo was often unable to complete his paintings and other art works. Especially those that he was comissioned to create. It is possible that the subjects of these commissioned art works held no interest for him and thus he became bored.
Two of those unfinished art works are mentioned by Vasari who described them both as "...it remained unfinished like his other works." One of these unfinished works was a Medusa painting.
Another unfinished work that Vasari mentioned, was the Adoration of the Magi which Leonardo worked on from 1478 to 1481, while he still lived in Florence. At the bottom right of this unfinished painting, it is rumoured that Leonardo may have added a small self portrait of himself.
Vasari also mentioned his understanding as to the reason why Leonardo was unable to finish anything he began.
"It is clear that Leonardo, through his comprehension of art, began many things and never finished one of them, since it seemed to him that the hand was not able to attain to the perfection of art in carrying out the things which he imagined; for the reason that he conceived in idea difficulties so subtle and so marvellous, that they could never be expressed by the hands, be they ever so excellent." I have found the German version via Vasari:

Wow Robynne, you study the Leonardo but thoroughly. I have me also once in the 80s books about him u. his paintings borrowed our large country library. But after 40 years, I'm sure more recent findings about him have been found. Very well done and thanks for the many links. I read through times, with translation, at Easter.
