About Me
I am happily retired and enjoying life with my DH Jerry. We have a wonderful daughter, SIL, and two of the world's greatest grandchildren. I enjoy photography, digital scrapping, genealogy, and singing in the choir.

Since we have one more night on board, we are able to leave the ship and begin exploring the city, first via the People Mover train, then on a vaporetto (yellow water bus) on the Canale Grand which goes through the main part of Venice. We see palazzos, gondolas, more canals, and bridges. Along the Grand Canal, we get off and walk through the neighborhoods, finding wide squares and narrow streets with overhanging upper floors. We marvel at churches, palaces, and museums around every corner, as well as a barge selling produce on a canal. The colorful, close-set buildings are unlike any other city we have seen. After a mid-afternoon wine break, we continue walking past the huge Franciscan church Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and the nearby Scuola Grande di San Rocco and Church of San Rocco. Heading back west toward the ship, we see the colorful Hotel Papadopoli near Papadopoli Gardens. After dinner, we see the show “Elements.”
