About Me
I discovered digital scrapbooking through a magazine at my dentist's office when my girls were toddlers. I downloaded GIMP shortly thereafter, and the rest is history. My teenagers aren't nearly as cute to scrap now as they were then - but I still love documenting who we are as a family. And hey, occasionally now my layouts don't even include my kids :P
I sometimes even get to use the skills I learned digital scrapbooking for my work (I do communications for a nonprofit ministry that provides educational opportunities for kids in Guatemala)
Besides digital scrapbooking, I enjoy geocaching, hiking, x-country skiing, hanging around with international students, reading, stewarding a little free library, and cheering on my family at their many races . . .
Oh, and I'm Canadian, eh? We put two Ls in journalling and a U in colour on purpose :)

Journalling:
hey look like they could be photos from a dream vacation - wide open vistas, beautiful sunshine, fabulous hikes. But while these photos were taken during spring break, they are actually the start of a surreal time. Before this, we thought social distancing was what teenagers did when they spent too much time in front of a screen. Now keeping away from others was the way to save the world from covid-19. I'm thankful Kevin & I can work from home. I'm thankful we have food in the fridge and the pantry (& even enough toilet paper) I'm thankful that the # of infections in our area are still low. And I'm thankful we live in a place where social distancing can look like this.
Sometimes, out in nature far away from anyone else, it's hard to comprehend that around the world, people's lives are falling apart.
I take a deep breathe, and remind myself that none of this was a surprise to God. I pray through 2 Chron 7:14 and I pray for family and friends here and around the world. And sometimes, I just don't know what to pray. And that's ok too. No clue how long this will last - or how long even hikes will be allowed. But for now, we're just taking one day at a time.
